Pleased to see my short story ‘Pomegranate’ published in the latest volume of Aigne on ‘Response’. Drawing on my research, the piece tells the story of one woman’s response to the unfamiliar in Northern Ireland. aigne.ucc.ie/index.php/ai... #immigration #inequality #racism

An article that I immensely enjoyed co-writing with a group of fantastic colleagues is out:

In it, we discuss insight from a series of multilingual storytelling workshops we conducted in Ireland.
A huge loss to the sector. @enversol.bsky.social @refugeecouncil.bsky.social has been a titan in these troubled times.

On Thursday I was interviewed on the BBC about our recent @ark-ni.bsky.social report on climate change & religion in Northern Ireland with @emmasoye.bsky.social & Gladys Ganiel.

"The lough supplies 40% of Northern Ireland's drinking water, which is treated and said to be safe. Not everyone is convinced."
In our @politicalquarterly.bsky.social piece, Elliott and I argued that this concern might be the best hope of spurring action. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
***The political climate***
@katyhayward.bsky.social & I have written an @ark-ni.bsky.social feature exploring the links between political party support & attitudes to climate change in #NorthernIreland in greater detail.
Strong support; stark differences.

I don't know about you but I've had about enough of mainstream media & politicians legitimising racist anti-asylum protests that terrorise refugees & communities.
I had to push back hard, TWICE on BBC yesterday about supposed "legitimate concerns" www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtkA...
More coming soon on climate attitudes - by political party support with @katyhayward.bsky.social and by religion/religiosity with @emmasoye.bsky.social and Gladys Ganiel
Spotted in Dixon Playing Fields in east Belfast this evening - the kind of graffiti I can get behind 💛
