The Famine is depicted as a rider holding scales, dressed in rich robes and jewellery for he is the cause of the famine inflicted upon all living beings. He also holds cracked golden bowl and an empty Horn of Abundance - both representing the coming of poverty. There is a hole in his chest where the heart should be - an underline to his heartless actions. His dark horse is boney and his harness and hooves are golden in contract to the richness of his master. The horse is acting up like it's trying to shake off the Famine off it's back.

there are two types of FFXIV expansions: “Buddhism is good” (stormblood, endwalker, dawntrail) and “Christianity is bad” (heavensward, shadowbringers). Usually they alternate, but because we just had a rare Double Buddhism Convergence Event, we can only assume 8.0 will be “Christianity is bad”
(This sounds like a stealth flex, but keep in mind that Robert Eggers has made multiple films & I have never completed a single project. Clearly one of us is managing this impulse better than the other)
In the commentary track for The Witch, Robert Eggers keeps dinging his own movie for things like region-inaccurate goats & modern-looking firewood. I've never related to another human being more

I think most magic systems are tedious, and I don't like coming up with them, but if I don't know how it works, I can't write about it--so here I am, Day 10 of debating if fate is predetermined in a story that isn't about that; & if it is, then if I NEED to factor fate into its themes

I think one of my most boring traits as a writer is how much I struggle to disconnect reality from worldbuilding. Trying to work through the mechanics of divination, & I keep getting stuck on shit like "Why would the stars know anything unless fate is predetermined?"
