In my new film THE MINION CANNOT HEAR THE FALCONER, we'll explore the way in which the emergence of 20th century ideologies fractured the once-cohesively evil Minion society into competing fascist and communist blocs that soon come to blows over which form of totalitarianism will shape their future.

"...on they came at a precipitous rate, stunted jaundiced horrors cyclopean and half-clothed, dull mouths agape, crying "pip, pip" and "hello buddies" in their grotesque subhuman voices. I crouched in my hiding place. "Poopay," they gibbered. "POOPAY!" - H.P. Lovecraft, "The Banana on the Threshold"
It says an enormous amount about the Royal Navy in the late Victorian period that they could essentially build HMS "Fuck That One Ship In Particular" as and when required.
Most people I know, self very emphatically included, still haven't totally recovered from it.
Text from the article in the previous post, reading: "Gobbling up green crabs is part of a broader movement that has also put lionfish, feral pigs, kudzu, and Asian carp on dinner plates and restaurant menus to stanch the spread of invasive species. Joe Roman, a conservation biologist who developed the concept of invasivorism 25 years ago, describes it as "a form of biological control" with human appetite as the agent of change.
Magnificent.
Shoutouts to everyone whose answer to, "What is to be done with this invasive species?" is, "Garlic and/or butter."
Feels kinda silly to say that rich people from the center to left of things politically can’t build a successful media environment when the onion is doing it basically using donations from semi-employed forum goblins
"What if the most powerful man on Earth was kind" is such a banger concept. Jerry and Joe were really cooking in 1938.

When a cat is sleepin' real hard and you pet her and she makes a little "activation noise" rt if you agree
This is very good.
two images of the human body's circulatory system. One of them with good cable management
The human circulatory system, before and after proper cable management.
we’ve reached a point where democratic hopefuls think they can prove they have national appeal by publicly criticizing a wing of the party that exists only in the minds of on right-wing podcasters…
remind me again how being trans is somehow a "luxury belief" while being a rich white cis person being really fucking weird about a tiny marginalized group of people isn't?
Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train. "If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."
I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

Hey everyone, is it a good sign when they're Baghdad-Bobbing the economy?
I firmly believe that Doctor Doom should speak American English with no accent at all, unless it's like a pretentious Mid-Atlantic accent. I think Doom would consider speaking a foreign language with an accent to be for lesser beings like Reed Richards.
Reading this, all I can think is: "I'm going to graduate from therapy, a thing that is normal to want and possible to achieve,"
*banging table* Tell the people, Ellen!
I’ve just been staring at this.
It’s how so many of my days feel.
Love too already be sweating when I leave the house in the morning, in g.d. April.
An employee at the eye doctor said his day was greatly improved because he overheard me say that there's a subreddit just for cats with airplane ears, so just in case you don't know: there's a subreddit just for cats with airplane ears. www.reddit.com/r/airplaneea...
Huge fan of everyone in the replies getting indignant about, e.g., ankylosaurus not getting more votes.
That seems very reasonable. I also know that as someone who, like, apologizes to sparrows if I disrupt them on the sidewalk, I'm better off just sticking to my program of deferential animism or whatever.
I just had the thought that I reflexively treat voice-controlled assistants the way I've learned to treat service workers, and people who are children now will treat service workers the way they've learned to treat voice-controlled assistants.
Jesus, I almost laughed beer out of my nose.
A stack of chinos in different colors.
Someone asked if I could tell them where to buy a pair of good chinos. In this thread, I will tell you, but my answer is not simple. On the upside, I think this is a better approach when shopping for clothes and you can apply it to any kind of item. 🧵
Many people are saying that JD is quite ignorant about the history of religion in Europe and the Middle East but that overlooks his expertise on the ottomans.
JD Vance not only responding to "is the pope Catholic?" like it's a serious question, but also coming up with the wrong answer.
