it is so telling that referendum was up to the voters in Virginia and California, but not Texas. Here they just did it. They wouldn't put it up to a vote. Tonight it really looks like cowardice.

If it makes you feel better, here in California, it had to go to people to vote to amend our Constitution, which had said redistricting must be done by an independent commission. After three election cycles, we revert back to that system. Maybe by then you could add that to your Texas Constitution.
Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.
A blue graphic with bold white text that reads: “What Prop 50 did to Issa’s district.” Below it, a paragraph explains that Proposition 50 redrew the San Diego–area congressional map, shifting Darrell Issa’s district—the 48th—from a reliably Republican seat to a Democratic‑leaning one (about D+4). It notes the district was moved west and north to include cities such as Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, and Palm Springs, which have more Democratic voters, and that this pattern of flipping GOP‑held districts occurred statewide.
Low morals Republican voters, willing to elect him, like Trump. He has worries, with his district altered by Prop 50, but not as much as some.
As a friendly reminder - and this one is actually friendly - Texas started all this. #Virginia #YES #10to1
A map of northern California and western Nevada shows congressional district boundaries highlighted in blue and orange. The blue outline marks a proposed version of District 1, stretching westward toward the coast to include more Democratic‑leaning areas and excluding many Republican‑leaning North State regions. Cities such as Chico, Sacramento, Eureka, Carson City, and Klamath Falls appear on the map for reference. On the right side, an inset displays the district’s shape with a green checkmark and the message “Excellent! Your district placement is very accurate!” Below the inset are two buttons labeled “Check Results” and “Clear Map.”
The 😂 is, that's how Prop 50 was sold in California, saying, "Texas, back off or else", but the proposition voted on didn't have that language. It's also why I'll have a Democrat representing me in the new CA-01 next year, and not an asshole, MAGA Republican.
an empty image
I will learn, if the image ever loads.
* whispers* is the displaying of images an issue on bluesky today?
Since I see an empty image above your post, I'd guess: yes.😁
7 fast food chains that are no longer worth the wait or the money
Chick‑fil‑A, no longer worth the wait or the money, 👩🔬, so I guess we'll never have it, even once in our life¹!

1.👩🔬: so are you going to read inside to see who the other six are²?
2.👩: Hell, nah, because that would take so long!!!—👩🔬:🤯
😂 If we end up with a Republican Governor in California, his term will be short-lived. There will probably be enough signatures on a petition to recall him by the time he takes office, so his first official act can be to schedule the election to replace him.
What is The Federal Union of Nocturnal Affairs?
That's why I got out of that gig. I earn less working in grocery stores, as a Produce Associate, but sleep better, particularly because it's physical job, so like getting paid to got to the gym. The 😂 is, I had a coworker who was way high up in WalMart, then stopped for the same reason.
Greed is demanded in a Capitalist system. If WalMart isn't greedy enough, their shareholders can sue them. Corporations, and I've worked for a few, aren't your friends. We did "good things" at times, but had to justify it as improving public perception of us, or things like that.
Make it about the money, huh, and not cutting-edge cardiovascular tech, which saves lives. You're avatar says "I love Trump", to me, so how about all the money Trump is spending on his dumbass war with Iran, and how that affects American Taxpayers?
$5.99 gas in Alturas, CA
Alturas CA, on a map.
That's so 💯. I see postings of $7.00 gas prices in the SF Bay Area, where last I checked there's still refineries there, but then I see lower prices in SO REMOTE areas. Like this just now, in Alturas, in Modoc County, one of the furthest gas stations from a refinery in CA.
That's why, I keep seeing people post this same article, and it doesn't reflect what happens in grocery stores, but could be done if someone is shopping on line, so can't see the shelf prices.
😂 "Grocery stores are required to keep their prices fixed for at least one business day to prevent hourly price spikes".
Working in a grocery store, most of our prices remained fixed for a long time, because it's so much work to change the prices on the shelf, like in the picture shown!
Now THIS is my idea of Taco Tuesday...
It's all good, until you're delivered a head of lettuce, unless you wanted to toss a salad, or something. 🤷♀️
Who remembers programming in BASIC? ... Nice pickup from Entertainment World in B'ham. Something I been wanting to try out for a while, Simons' Basic for the #Commodore #C64 ... Now have to ask, what other versions of BASIC, or other 80s programming languages do you recommend I check out? (cont...)
In the morning, the site foreman showed up, was 😠😠😠 when I told him what I did, but then later the BIG BOSS figured out what I did was good, so I rewrote all the crappy code running the place, over time, "double-dipping", being paid as a consultant, while doing nothing, mostly, except sleeping less.
😂 I remember BASIC. I used to go into Radio Shacks, and make the computer scroll my name. It also ended up useful on a job, where I was a plant operator, and something interfered with me being able to sleep on the job. I pressed "break", saw the code was in BASIC, fixed it, then went to sleep.
If I let you merge in traffic and you don’t do a wave of thanks, I will follow you home and make you cook me a nice pot roast.
🤣 Holly has never cooked a pot roast, so whether the result of me cooking one ends up "nice" is unknown!
Did Kash Patel read his own lawsuit?
When asked why he was locked out of his computer — as The Atlantic reported and Patel *admitted* in his lawsuit — Patel denied it happened: "I was never locked out of my systems," he just claimed.
What his lawsuit says: buff.ly/JTRuZKf
We have IT staff to help resolve "routine, technical problems", like maybe the user's computer isn't powered on, which they could resolve, and then the user could log in.
A huge wind turbine at a WalMart warehouse near Red Bluff, CA.
WalMart, in NorCal, has one, single, ginormous wind turbine at a warehouse near Red Bluff, which I've never seen elsewhere. CoPilot says it was a "pilot project".
Good morning BlueSky...

A screenshot of a section titled “2. Comma-by-comma evaluation.” It lists six comma examples, each followed by a judgment and explanation. Items 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 are marked incorrect for misusing commas before “and” or placing commas in the wrong spot. Item 4 is marked correct as a proper non‑restrictive descriptor (“Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan,”).
I'm doubtful Trump wrote that single sentence, with so many commas—even though only one was used correctly, as evaluated by CoPilot—ending "President DONALD J. TRUMP", but if he didn't post it, titled "STATEMENT OF POTUS DONALD J. TRUMP", then someone even dumber did, which is hard to imagine.
