It's such a low-key resistance move but talking about not using AI, especially in a professional context, is so important in working against "inevitability" narratives and so powerful in identifying who your people are — and in ensuring there are more of us all the time.
This weekend I gave a presentation to a group of mostly college-aged folks and had a little line at the beginning of my slides that described it as an "AI-free presentation made by a human, for humans" and I had to pause for clapping at that part
you love to see it

Unsure if I posted this before or not
I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines.
Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."
Here is your periodical reminder that:
-Reference isn't cheating and no artist worth their salt has ever said that it is.
-Professional artists and animators trace all the time.
-You can use assets (3d models, photos, montages) that you made/got permission to use however you want in your art.
I got banned from twitter in 2023 for this drawing. They called it "violent speech". It had over 40K likes and too many comments for me to read before my ban, but I still see it floating around here and there. Save a copy, and use it freely. No attribution needed. Love u

I want to see a future in the games industry where we focus on mutual aid and support rather than this chase for highest fidelity and highest profit margins at the cost of human safety. The way the people who make your games and cartoons get treated is absolutely insane and not normal.
Next week there will be another existential boogeyman designed to discourage you from pursuing art. There will always be a mosquito in your ear trying to convince you your creativity has no value. Let this Sora situation be a lesson. Stop getting pushed around by scammers. Make art
"We reserve the right to boot your ass on vibes" is literally an essential aspect to establishing a functional community, because "you will only be removed if you break these specific articulated rules" means that some douchebag will go just short of breaking those rules and drive people away.
Every single post I see with the "you can't just ban someone from an event on vibes" just reminds how most of y'all have never had to be responsible for the safety of Every. Single. Person. In. Attendance.
Your participation in events, even public ones, is a privilege, not a right.

Just girly things c:.
Should probably make her into an original character and give her a name hehe c:.
Gotta love drawing elf ladies hehe c:.
For the same reason I don't do my supermarket shopping by looking at the aisles through a toilet paper tube
Seeing people defend AI in conceptual stages by saying it didn't make it to the final product feels like watching AI smooth their brains out in real time
All the indie authors who use AI for their covers because “what am I supposed to do, I can’t afford an artist” would probably have a melt down if artists did paintings and had AI write books to go with the paintings.
Anyway, shout out to indie authors who have really bad photoshop covers.
genuinely I think the obsession with turning things into "productivity time" is a blight on the human condition
we could all stand to be a little less productive. constant productivity ain't getting you anything but stress as the oligarchy profits off your labor.
Oh sorry, here I am sleep deprived and grouchy, just trying to get to work on this overly gray day and survive, the bus is already full and now I have to be surrounded by and give up my seat to a gaggle of shrieking children because their attendants suck at planning and consideration? Fuck oooooff.
My hot take for the day is that kindergartens who plan outings during the day, that require them to take public transport, should fucking WAIT til after 10 AM so that everyone who commutes to work are done. It's infuriating af when they try to pack a whole kindergarten into an already full bus.💀
If you're doing callout posts about artists creating fictional taboo content, you may not consider yourself a fascist, but you are one. You are their stupid tool at the bare minimum. The good news is you can stop doing that at any time
Games, movies, etc. lose personality, style and identity. Everything ends up looking the same. I don’t know it just feels like we’re prioritizing technical flexing over actual artistic expression and that’s fucking sad
This obsession with hyperrealism is honestly so tiring. People just assume that more realistic graphics = progress, and it’s such a limited way of looking at things. When everything is chasing the exact same “realistic” look it all starts to blend together
