Have you actually read the Chronicle article that started all of this? There was sufficient corroborating evidence for Manhattan DA to open a criminal investigation. Whether or not they have enough to convict him remains to be seen but there is definitely enough to show he shouldn’t be in office.

Something like this will have to happen in this country once Trumpism is defeated. In the absence of accountability, the world will rightly assume that it will happen again.

He’s not Opus Dei though as the pope he has some authority over it and hopes to reform it. Doesn’t mean he’ll succeed.

Analysis | Less than 1% of rapes lead to felony convictions. At least 89% of victims face emotional and physical consequences. The gap in consequences is vast: Fewer than 6 percent of rapes end in arrest, and fewer than 1 percent end in conviction. Meanwhile, nearly 9 in 10 victims face emotional and physical consequences.

Rape is a crime that’s almost never persecuted and punished. It’s a crime that’s generally ignored by the criminal system.

There is a difference between legal system and public opinion. Trump hasn’t been convicted of being Epstein’s co-conspirator or even been indicted for it but pretty sure most people paying attention know he’s done some bad things with Epstein.

The Culture That Teaches Us Not to Believe Women For many women, the assault is only the beginning. Then comes the burden of being believed.

I have lived inside the culture of not being believed as a victim of sexual assault. Eric Swalwell should not just drop out of the governor’s race. He should be nowhere near public office. He should fucking resign from Congress. 👇🏼

I love the idea of improving public transit but LA to SF train is $126bn. I’m not sure what $91mn can possibly do… less wait while the tourists are in town?

Well it worked. I’m not going to embrace people arguing that women don’t belong in the workplace and shouldn’t have the right to vote.

Innocent until proven guilty only applies to criminal court. Court of public opinion is “what is the most logical thing to conclude given the information we have”. You don’t text your best friend saying you think you were sexually assaulted if it didn’t happen.

Episcopalians are Protestants. Catholicism but American is Opus Dei. Yes, I know it hasn’t originated in the US but that’s what the catholics in power in the US are.

I mean would you want to put yourself front and center in front of the cameras on a big issue now? I would argue it’s not going too well for Vance/ Hegseth/ RFK Jr. Never mind Noem and Bondi.

All SCOTUS justices said they will uphold Roe vs Wade as the law of the land in their nomination hearings. Republican candidates will say they will uphold the 19th amendment and then will work to take it away if elected. I don’t think legitimising the idea by entertaining it in interviews is good.
