The turntable connects to your iTunes and plays the hifi, lossless ALAC version of your record. The platter doubles as a copy of Songs of Innocence.

Will Will Wilson soon see swings where once Safeco was super special sponsor, or will spiritual chaperone Wilson slow Will's wandering waltz with big show success?

meanwhile GOP words and actions don't match, but they talk like your buddies.

one thing I think about is rerunning the last decade with all the same policy decisions, but Dem messaging being more on the nose and clear about being anti-elite/pro-worker. The American Rescue Plan and Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill were not bad, but all the messaging was twee and obtuse.

I'm less panicked than I am angry that the team insists on terrible bullpen usage and a lineup apparently carved in stone. burn some sage, have a team meeting, *do* something. this team from leadership to the field looks like they are ambivalent toward outcomes.

Mariners are just completely lost as an org right now. They look unmanaged, they play with no energy or urgency, and there is seemingly no effort being made to change any of it.

Just a garbage start to the season and a huge disrespect to the fans of a team that was hyped as a world series contender

this used to happen all the time in Edmonds and I always heard growing up, depending on the kind of soap and kind of pipe, the detergents can screw with the plumbing and mechanical portions of the fountains.

I believe the Mariners are pranking me because I say mean things about Jerry

I had him for 4 years in a dynasty league and didn't keep him this year

I think it comes through in Aaron's tone sometimes, but maaaan have RRS, Angie and Dave Valle had some bad sound bites spinning for the team. I miss Blow.

"Why aren't Democrats doing this" is much more often "why am I not hearing about Democrats doing this" which is a whole different and much more complicated problem

you get a pretty clear picture in comments like this about the evangelical belief that morality is personal, not collective or social--which isn't true anywhere in the Bible.

I’m endorsing Nilu Jenks @niluj.bsky.social, fellow @workingfamilies.org candidate because she’s committed to fighting for a future for all of us! Deeply rooted in D5, Nilu has been a champion for democracy and immigrant communities. She’s the colleague I want on council and deserves your support!

Orban achieved a level of authoritarian consolidation unthinkable here and they still successfully got rid of him. Never let the doomers have the final say.

proportional representation and a stronger Speaker would go a long way.

my dad grew up down the street from the Bale Breaker brewery. he ended up being a better construction worker for my grandpa than ag worker though, ha. seeing hops ends up reminding me of pie and grandma's cooking more than beer. it's amazing with how much Yakima has grown, the scale of farms still.

it's wild to me that in response to "IPAs suck" discourse, brewers were like, "We heard you, so instead of our award winning double IPA, we're now making all of our beers mango-habanero flavored."

But every year the institution fights against it, the more painful the transition will be.

I've been right about lots of church stuff over the last decade, so people in my orbit often ask what I think the future looks like. Nobody likes it when I say it looks a lot healthier, but at the cost of being smaller and less culturally relevant.

it's tangential, but one of these dark and gritty universes needs a spin-off series that's just straight comedy. Like Psych in a Star Wars context or Vicar of Dibley in Game of Thrones setting.

it's so earnest you can't hate it. Zahn and McConaughey have perfect chemistry.

yeah, we got screwed by economics, but we're also technocratic optimists who believe the world is fixable

I think about this a lot as an elder millennial parent now in middle age, and here is an incomplete list of supporting evidence:

post-lead paint
post-leaded gas
(mostly) post-cigarettes
fluoride and early dental care
mental health awakening
post-cold war anxiety
we built computers from parts

The 2005 Matthew McConaughey/Steve Zahn buddy movie Sahara is a better story of brotherhood and adventure than Lord of the Rings.

also, how have I already been forced to watch 12 innings of Criswell and Legumina?

I need to start being more clear in my complaining that I'm not worried about Cal, Julio, and Naylor.

I'm mad that Jerry once again built a team that is aesthetically unpleasant to watch, and also they keep losing because of it.

A coffee cities list that has 4 cities east of the Mississippi and not Portland is whack. Like, they even shout out a roaster from Portland in the Austin ranking, lol.
