Hear me out. I know it looked crazy when they stormed the capitol. But like….right now might be the right time

I did it! I made a space to share my game design thoughts 😊 Will start posting more soon, and I'll link here whenever I do.

Thinking of starting a little game design blog where I post short thoughts on game design and narrative. Like cool things a game is doing, dev tips from my experience, creative exercises, things like that. Not long-form. Short and sweet. Would anyone be into that? 🤔

If the Trump admin hates wokeness so much, why does the “Department of War” want to use Anthropic’s “woke AI” so much? Like bro, why don’t you just use grok?
I mean that sounds like a sensible argument until I realize damn if we gave Grok the ability to surveil and launch autonomous attacks…
It’s a case of being conditioned to having too much information lol imagine how much trust we had to have before. I don’t know what’s right, but I am searching for a magic middle
No matter how much you think the UN failed at maintaining a rules based order, right now we should really be trying to re-establish rules based order and institutions that support it. Unfortunately we are going down a very dark path. There’s a reason we had this, to prevent world war. Now what?
When people insist that it was just about taking down a dictator…they are showing how horribly ignorant they are of International Relation, geopolitics, and history.
We should be calling it out for what it is. But also, we need to stop hanging our hopes on the US, especially under this kind of regime. Hard to imagine for others I guess, but there are other countries than US and China, and there have to be other ways to conduct geopolitics than this
The United States grabbing the leader of a foreign state should be viewed globally as an unacceptable act of aggression (war?).
We should all be worried because if they can do this, what won’t they do?
I got to write something for Komiks.space where I try and impart some sage wisdom (lol) but seriously if you’re starting out you might learn something
Weapons, dude. Go watch it. Avoid knowing anything about it and just experience it.
I’ve been involved in discussions on AI and often I’m asserting humanist and human-centered approach. People get distracted by the hype and the promises of ASI/AGI. But we need to move from humanist principles. Humanities people need to be at the table ever more!
Gutted by the cut to funding for US public media. I grew up on PBS and my own career and trajectory have been informed and inspired by NPR.
Responsible and Ethical AI is a topic that’s really heating up, especially in the last few weeks with AI-powered disinformation operations. I got to talk a little bit about key concepts and more here

I’ve watched lectures and listened/watched to material to familiarize myself with the ideas of Surveillance Capitalism. But finally having a book in my hands, on top of the ideas I can’t help but admire how magnificent Shoshana Zuboff’s prose is. Amazing thinker, beautiful prose stylist.
I never played Pokémon. Felt I was too old for it when it came out. But I’ve been curious. Asked a friend, if I’m a fan of stuff like Ghost of Tsushima and GTA, what’s a good entry point. I picked up Arceus and… I GET IT NOW. Having so much fun and happy to have a new fandom to get into.
What platform is that? I think I just rage quit from all the pricing tiers at some point haha. Or maybe I miss the days of I give money and I get cartridge
I’m very privileged to have been invited by the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP) to deliver this lecture on #ArtificialIntelligence and Visual Journalism. If you have time this Tuesday morning come through and join the conversation!
just to play and enjoy the full features of a game. I’m a solo player, I enjoy time to myself to explore and lose myself in games. The higher price I would happily play to have a peaceful experience the way I want it.
What would make me happy to pay more for games is if, after dropping the full retail cost, I didn’t have to pay anything else. No more microstransactions, no more selling me stuff in game to get ahead, and biggest thing for me, no requiring me to be online and paying for a subscription
Been looking at the possibility of video games costing 80USD. Honestly, we are paying very little for games vis-a-vis the dev costs of most games, especially AAA. And for the enjoyment and value we get, the cost we pay is pretty fair and a price increase is understandable. HOWEVER
For all they I enjoyed The Accountant 2, I just have to say, there was much more accounting in the first film.
When people call a TV show or movie “slow” does it actually have a problem with pacing, or are they judging it based on TikTok-speed/attention and cuts?
You have friends that you deeply, truly, sincerely love, but if you worked with them, you would 100% fire them? lol
I normally don’t read my own work. But a story I wrote 20 years ago was re-published so I thought to try. I cringed at myself and how I thought “that was good.” At the end of it though I stepped away kinda proud of my young self. Like good job for doing that you were pretty good at that age.
I’ve been in here almost an hour. I feel my life force being sucked out by this unnecessary waiting
For all the advances in fintech and AI…. It still takes forever to deposit a check. And there’s always just one bank teller lol
I made a 90s playlist for a young friend (in her mid-20s). I realize the time gap would be the same as someone handing me a Beatles tape in the 90s. Oh my back and knees.
They are oh so quiet
Therapy or three fingers of whiskey? We know what we should choose, but elder millennials, y’all know what you’re picking
