For _Mollycoddle Map Explorers_ I tried to implement the fog of war mechanic first. And loook 😊 - The clouds vanish✨
But slowly, I regret using TileMaps. It’s said to be beginner friendly. But I find it overly complicated and too rigid looking. Next time I will use something more artist-y🖌️

A map with gras, bushes, cherry blossom trees made with the Dual Tile Grid technique from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEWFSv3ivTg. And the title of the game "Mollycoddle Map Explorers"
Mollycoddle Map Explorers is my first tiny Godot solo-dev game. When I learned TileMaps in GameDev.TV I noticed, that edges are very sharp. I found a wonderful tutorial from @jesscodes.bsky.social for DualTileMaps(thx💖). I don't understand it fully😅 but the corners are much smoother with less tiles.
A fluffy pink sheep in kawaii-aesthetic and it's pixel version.
I decided to make a few micro games, to learn one mechanic per game. I love the exploration of maps. So first, I learned how to make fog of war. In September 2025 I made Mollycoddle Map Explorers– a tiny game about finding six animals. I tested a cute pixel-aesthetic with old drawings for the game.

Last year I had an 6-month sabbatical – best thing ever ✨Now, I will post what I worked on in the past. Yes, it won't be my newest things. But this way I can plan my posts and post every other friday.
Now you know :) As a thanks, here is a donut 😊 (yes, it is THE Blender tutorial donut 😇)
A picture of the cats I've drawn for the CozyFallGameJam 2025: It's a black, chubby cat with expressions: suprised, pleased, angry and... bored.
The CozyFallJam2025 was something special for me✨ Not only was it my first GameJam. It was the first time I got to work on a real game in a community of fellow GameDevs. Not as a "Maybe?“ but as "Yes, it’s me! Here are cats." From now on I will share my journey with the community💖 every other friday
