They don't belong in any government building, but seems like Trump could use a tutorial on idolatry . . . and probably a few others. Lying. Stealing. Etc.

George Washington required the entire Continental Army to get inoculated against smallpox. It was the first army-wide vaccination in history. Mortality dropped from 30% to 1%. Mandatory vaccinations just might have won America it's independence.

Helluva way to celebrate 250 years, Pete.

You wonder why men are lonely? You don't see the harm in a worldview that claims a God subjugated women to men? This is just so beyond fucked.

I have been struggling to find words strong enough to condemn this ... horror and, even 24 hours on, I find myself at a loss. Violent retribution for every participant seems like the least demand of justice.

It will be extremely funny if Vance manages to get himself excommunicated before his book on becoming a Catholic releases.

Rollercoaster of a pod today!
Trump threaten genocide via nuclear attack while science lands 4 astronauts back on this floating rock. Plus, the 25th Amendment, impeachment, and the toxic masculinity documentary on Netflix.

Maybe we could—and I'm just spit balling here—separate religion and government? Like maybe we could keep the church out of the state and vice versa? What if we just tried that for a bit, hmm?

This is what Christian Nationalism looks like.
More specifically, this is what White Christian Nationalism looks like.

A government that belongs to We the People preaching broken theology from a "holy book" while utterly failing to make the lives of those people better. Christian Nationalism fails.

Trump declares war on American Catholics in an unhinged rant. The rift in the Christian Nationalist coalition—always an uneasy alliance between conservative Catholics and white Evangelicals—grows as Trump targets the loyalty of American Catholics. Will they choose Trump or the Pope?

Ask them.

"God you're hot," said the school board member to the minor student. 🤮Washington County, TN school board member Keith Ervin said that, was roundly condemned and criticized, but also defended by other Christian Nationalist board members with rancid religious rhetoric. Via @reichwingwatch

We can do the most amazing things when we find science and use the scientific method. What an amazing landing, everything went according to plan. Bravo, @NASA!

I've not been on here much.

After 25 years inside legacy news, my decision to step away probably looked confusing. Why would a mid-career DC correspondent leave content to think about platforms, creators, and how people find news?

It felt like it was time to chase the problem.

Ok, finally caught up with the Melania presser and yes, it really does seem like trying to get ahead of something coming that will be worse. That's a pretty typical tactic in crisis comms.

So what do you think is about to break? Unredacted files?

The U.S. military “is run by lunatics – religious fanatic lunatics," to borrow from Marco Rubio.

It's certainly better that way, but I'd object to that being the ONLY way. I've found Irish whiskey works even better. 😉

Esquire couldn’t book this actor for an interview so fed previous responses through a couple of thief machines and ‘interviewed’ a digital photocopy. Including asking personal questions about his dad.

People need to be sued and then fired for this.

In my humble opinion, the death of an innocent person cannot absolve anyone of their moral wrongs.

We cannot and should not seek to pile our "sins" on an innocent. We should accept personal responsibility and seek to make amends. Vicarious redemption through human sacrifice is not a moral doctrine.

The haters always leave reviews. If you want to support authors, podcasters, creators, etc., take the time to leave a review of their work. Truly, it's an easy way to make a difference. This review is for the One Nation Indivisible podcast and I'm betting Attila hear hasn't heard a word.

This post is a good example of how major media normalize Trump's erratic conduct and inability to present a coherent explanation of his war strategy--if you can even call it that.

I used to play a lot of poker in college. We ran a nightly game out of our house. I paid for study abroad with poker winnings.

But I have been reliably informed by colleagues that I have no poker face when it comes to my opinion about this Supreme Court.

Dozens of Jan. 6 defendants and others present on Capitol grounds have filed a class action in Florida against DC + Capitol police for their use of force during the riot.

Many of those on the list were convicted of felonies (and pardoned by Trump). storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
