Pomegranate tattoo! This was a fun challenge to pull off! I used dark cobalt from eternal and deep purple from solid ink to shade those deeper tones.

I do all my sketching on the iPad then I’ll print out my sketches and traditionally ink/do final artwork. Rulers and stencils exist irl and all professionals use every tool in their tool box to get desired results. Don’t ever feel bad for not drawing the perfect circle free hand.

I love being a tattooer in part because I get to be part of that story for clients. I get to help people have agency over their bodies weather or not they have survived the same things I have. Even if you have no trauma, and I hope you don’t because trauma is rough. Knowing you can be at peace 4/?

My tattoo, no one can take away my agency, nobody can make me feel lesser. I also love having tattoos because it helps me hate my body less. I have so much beautiful artwork that to talk bad about my body is to talk bad about the 20+ artists who have helped alter it into what it is today. 3/?

Tattoos help me feel like I’m home within myself in a way that no other form of self expression has. I can look down and see my tattoos and remind myself that my body is my own. That these changes are permanent. Hair can be cut off and clothes can be ripped away but nobody can take away 2/?

I think the reason so many people suffer through the pain of tattoos is because being tattooed is having the ultimate agency of your body. Part of my healing as a CSA/CPTSD survivor is being grounded in my body and having complete control/agency over it. 1/?
