Martina has a very selective memory of what it must be like to be labelled as a sexual predator…

This tweet is highly defamatory and Martina Navratilova should be fired from BBC Sport for it.

It demonstrates an horrendous level of hatred for a trans woman (who was cleared of all wrongdoing in a recent tribunal) because she is a trans woman.

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

A reminder, as Obama and Mamdani come together for the first time in person, that Mamdani is everything the GOP said Obama was... but wasn't: an African-born socialist Muslim.

The AI datacenter buildout is huge compared to past projects like the interstate highway system, the Apollo program, and the US railroad boom. But its still modest compared to global clean energy investment or oil and gas investment:

Actually, Atlas was condemned to carry the sky on his back. (The image of him with the planet came later.) And that was his punishment for losing a war. This guy should try the internet.

A HUGE, narrative-breaking moment for the UK car market

New EVs are now cheaper than petrol cars on average, says Autotrader

Last yr CCC said price parity was due by 2028 – and it's already here

And EVs are already MUCH cheaper to run than petrol

The problem is that even if the PM didn’t know that Mandelson had failed the vetting process when he spoke in February, he really should have done. Mandelson had been fired months before. No 10 and the Foreign Office had already had months to get the facts lined up. The appointment process had involved senior No 10 and Foreign Office staff, not far-flung junior officials. Finding out what happened should not have been complicated.

If the prime minister cannot get basic facts right about a senior appointment in which he was personally involved, people are already asking, what is he doing trying to run a country?

BBC punching down - again!

And also in comparison to the very real difficulties faced by migrants and refugees every single day, in which the BBC takes far less interest until there’s a riot or some other crisis.

Both abject and pathetic, in short /end

Call me a pedant but I really think if BBC is going to make this inflammatory stuff headline news for two days (and counting) they ought to have a bit more evidence than this, and since they don’t you have to wonder what the purpose is of trumpeting it all over the place 5/

This is excellent from Zack Polanski and rather pathetic from Sadiq Khan who just ties himself in knots trying to defend the indefensible. That 'you'd close down all airports' at the end was embarrassing, and the look on his face afterwards says it all.

I remember listening to various podcasts at the time is PM’s appointment as ambassador to the US and thinking that this was happening in a very small bubble that was obviously going to burst, and burst big!

If you paid taxes for 2025, you likely paid:

$124 — school lunch & nutrition programs
$49 — diplomacy to prevent wars
$19 — USPS
$19 — Federal Aviation Administration
$18 — national parks

and

$4,049 — weapons and war.

These priorities are hurting us all. We need change. #TaxDay

I'm not watching or listening to this idiot. But isn't this one of his more reasonable takes, at least how it's transcribed? Isn't he saying RBG was old and should have stepped down while we had a Democrat in power rather than let him pack the court because she died under his watch?

1 week ago 4 1 1 0

He has a point. If RBG had resigned in time, Obama could have appointed a successor and the supreme court wouldn't be as extreme as it is. That speaks of the hybris of democratic-party political operators that deemed it impossible to lose the election to Trump.

The timeline is a little off but otherwise he's exactly correct about Ginsberg. She didn't want to have her replacement named by a black man so she didn't retire when she had cancer the first time and Obama was president with 60 votes in the Senate. Because of her ego Roe is overturned.

1/6 🧵The Pope has put his finger on Trump’s greatest weakness on foreign policy. With his narcissistic delusion of omnipotence, he doesn’t understand how Great Powers maintain hegemony. Along with Hegseth he thinks it’s all a matter of brute force. Alliances, diplomacy & soft power are ‘woke’.

Reform, in theory, could have been a gift to Labour: they divided the Right-wing vote. All Labour had to do was govern in a way that held their Center-Left coalition together

Instead, they chose to act foolishly and blow up their own coalition in pursuit of a voting base with no interest in them
