People who bring lawsuits for alleged defamation need to understand 2 things:

1) Truth is an ABSOLUTE DEFENSE to a defamation claim.

2) Civil litigation involves a pre-trial phase called discovery.

Let’s just name all the men in the news, but describe women in the news only by their relationship/connection to said men.

Yes, once the discharge petition had the requisite number of signatures, all but 1 member of Congress decided they didn’t want to go on record as having voted against releasing the Epstein Files.

But “Trump had no choice” is different from “there is zero chance he’ll sign it”, which was my point.

There was also zero chance that Trump would sign the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law, after there was zero chance that either house of Congress would pass it and after Mike Johnson shut down the House and wouldn’t seat a newly elected member to try to stop a discharge petition.

He never once said to run on the policies of 100 years ago, or to ignore or oppose everything that’s happened in the past 100 years. Infact, if you were being honest about his policies, they resemble those of FDR.
