This is my favorite thing to hear! This, and that it was part of your deck-creation journey. That’s probably the biggest compliment ever, imo!

Hey, y’all! After burning out hard post-book launch, I’m slowly returning to social media! While I was away, I started a new project—a queer horror novel 🔪🩸🌈💉—and I’m halfway done. 😁 So my presence will still be spotty from the writing cave.
A book titled “Queer Devotion” in front of a shelf
I was inspired by this amazing books by @thewordwitch.bsky.social that I recommend to everyone seeking to explore the Divine Queer #witchsky
Thank you so much! I’m so happy you’re connecting with the book! 🌈💖
Heck yeah! 🐶🪴✊🏻

I've just read this, and I wanted to share with you.

9 of Swords:
A nightmare is scariest in the dark. Turn on the lights.
I’m so happy you’re enjoying them!! ❤️
Aw yay! I love to hear this! 🥰
Thanks for listening! Glad you enjoyed it! 💚
It’s liiiiive!!! This is the podcast recording that I was so excited about last month. ☺️💚 Listen in for one of my favorite interview convos ever, on one of my very favorite podcasts!!
It was indeed!! Thank you for listening! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! ☺️💚
P.S. The recording went GREAT. Not sure if I’m supposed to say what it is yet, but the episode should drop in July, so stay tuned!
Two cards from The Gay Marseille Tarot propped on the corner of Charlie’s altar. The cards are the Ace of Coins (Pentacles) and the Page of Coins (Pentacles). The Ace has a stylized coin with leopard print and a 4-petaled violet in the center, with budding vines growing from it. The Page shows a trans guy in green overalls that show his top surgery scars, a straw hat, and a diabetic arm patch. He stands in a tilled garden and holds up a larger-than-life coin in one hand and smiles at it.
Just recorded a VERY COOL interview with a podcast I’m a huge fan of! We were originally supposed to record 2 weeks ago, but I got sick. I pulled cards for whether to reschedule. For no, I pulled The Hanged One. For yes, Page of Pents. And here he is again in my daily draw today! TAROT WORKS Y’ALL.
Literally SCREAMING that @kristenkorvette.bsky.social is reading my book!! *Witches, Sluts, Feminists* was so powerful for me. It’s the first place I read other queer and trans witches articulating that queerness, transness, and Other-ness can be a source of power. ❤️🔥
Beginning @thewordwitch.bsky.social 's *Queer Devotion* tonight, and I love that I'm reveling in the chapter on Aphrodite after spending the day thinking on last year's Pride month ritual dedicated to Kybele...and planning for this year's to Inanna.
I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying it!! And I love that you’re planning a ritual to Inanna this year! I feel like she’s the deity we need for Pride 2025. Unashamedly genderqueer, indomitably powerful, no mercy. 🔥
Haha! Every time I see that photo, you crack me up! 🤣💚
I haven’t done a ritual there (what a cool idea!), but I pass by it multiple times a week and almost always remember to look up and say hi!
Charlie is standing behind a podium and speaking. They’re wearing a black suit vest with a silver watch chain, black knee-length trouser shorts, and Doc Marten combat boots. Their bare arms are covered in black and grey tattoos. Their hands are lifted in front of them because they talk with their hands. To their left is an ASL interpreter and to their right is a display of Queer Devotion books and limited edition candles that Charlie collaborated on with Seagrape Apothecary.
A wide shot of the reading that shows the room with every seat full! Charlie stands at the front. The room is paneled in warm wood behind them. To the right is a wall of geometric bookshelves filled with books, candles, and witchy goods and a dusty pink rainbow mural. Edison bulbs dangle from a gnarled tree limb that extends across the space overhead. Guests sit in an assortment of folding chairs, couches, and along a long wood table with benches.
Charlie is wearing a face mask and giving a thumbs up beside an absolutely luxurious, decadent, and gigantic charcuterie board piled with fruits and cheeses, which is probably the fanciest thing that has ever been assembled in their honor.
Charlie is holding a large bouquet of flowers in rainbow colors and laughing with a huge smile on their face.
Yesterday’s book release party for QUEER DEVOTION was epically lovely!! Here’s just a few of my favorite shots. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate with me and to Seagrape Apothecary for hosting! My heart is full. 🌈💗
Omg I love to hear this! Thank you so much. And your bestie too! 🥰
Ooh yay! I hope you’re enjoying it! 💕
👆🏻 The Seagrape event is also ASL interpreted!
Thank you, Jeanna! (Very belated over here too, lol) 🥰🌈💞
Aw, yay! This warms my heart! 💗
Thank you for sharing! 🥰🥰💞💞

Just got my hands on this new book by @thewordwitch.bsky.social so I haven't read much of it yet but I'm excited to! The mix of our closely shared values & gender/sexuality experiences with a perspective on #spirituality very different from mine is in the sweet spot of fascination & learning for me!
I love hearing this!! Thank you for engaging with the book from this space of curiosity and fascination! 💞✨
Yay!! I hope you’re enjoying the book AND your week off! ✨
A flyer with a photo of Charlie and the Queer Devotion book cover on a mint green background that says “Queer Devotion Book Release Party. New date! Thursday, May 29th, 5-7pm. Seagrape Apothecary, 2823 NE Sandy Blvd, PDX. Masks required & provided.”
This is TOMORROW!! After postponing the Queer Devotion release party for over a week, I’m COVID-free and ready to party! 🎉🕺🌈🪩
If you’re in PDX, join me at Seagrape Apothecary tomorrow, 5/29, 5-7pm for readings, refreshments, giveaways, a limited batch candle collab, & lots of queer joy!
Copies of Queer Devotion stacked face-up on a table, surrounded by other books by LGBTQIA+ authors, including “Marsha” by Tourmaline, “The Starving Saints” by Caitlin Starling, and the new “WITCH” anthology. The overall vibe is of brightly colored queer joy.
Queer Devotion sits face-out on a light green shelf next to Fifth Spirit Tarot and Radical Tarot (all by Charlie). A shelf talker card under the book says “Upcoming event! Join us for an evening of readings, Q&A, and devotion with Charlie Burgess. May 31st, 2025.”
QUEER DEVOTION sighting in the wild at @alwaysherebooks.bsky.social, where I’m doing an author talk, Q&A, and book signing this Saturday, 5/31, 6-8pm!
