Positive opinion? Larian did what they could with what they were given. Best implementation of DnD mechanics in a videogame that even some GMs can borrow. That turn based combat is like crack. They really know their stuff

Solid game that came out during western RPG drought era

I have a very tough relationship w/ DnD which is "I don't care about anything that's not Planescape". And it's really tough to play a game where 70% of the setting just doesn't spark joy

Can't play horror games bc gameplay irritates me so I watched oomf play it and it was Great, a modern classic

Story, atmosphere, symbolism goes hard & the world has a very personal touch from the devs
