@ludumdare.com hello! Any way of knowing if ld58 is happening in a month's time? There's the countdown on ldjam.com but other than that I can't really tell? Thanks for all your good work!

Joyboats / Powerride — BG Gibber 🗣️ YouTube video by Board Gems

@sowronggames.bsky.social heyo! Have you folks heard about/made comments re: the alleged Joyride plagiarism of Corne van Moorsel's Powerboats? Apologise if so since I'm perpetually not up to date with episodes but do eventually listen to them all 😅 nuance sought!

Yeah it's taken all I have to have kept that word out of that tweet lol

(I'm gonna keep using Twitter terminology I don't see why not lol)

Ah we have circled back to the platform posts about the platform discourse (tweets about twitter) era again

I also block unnecessary cookies (as per each site's own things) but I'm sure some have crept by me somehow. Is there a way to clear it? I guess wipe cookies would do it?

One of the more accursed things about the modern internet is how once you interact with something, its ads will follow you incessantly. Even if you've already bought the damn thing.

Yeah I'd been wanting to try it for a long time after having stopped playing netrunner (despite still loving it), hadn't had the chance to. Then recently found someone to play with and we've been blasting through it. Best campaign game I've enjoyed so far. But damn it's pricy 😅

Oh this is relevant because Arkham Horror LCG feels like it shares some DNA with netrunner (without renaming hand and deck etc lol) and is, to me, a fun medium between mechanics and narrative in a campaign format that's about exploring and experience more than reading long expositions.

... As well as being an overly competitive game that required a whole ass scene to play. Arkham Horror LCG has been a great adventure game for me with twists and turns, character and mechanics. Happy with Netdecking so I don't have to think about deck construction too much. Recommended.

@sowronggames.bsky.social just heard the controversial netrunner episode lol, in which y'all also lamented the lack of good adventure games. I don't suppose you've tried Arkham Horror LCG? I'm a netrunner fan but stopped playing because I no longer enjoyed deck construction.

Sigh, the problem is that social media is has just moved on from going to specific destinations. Everyone is used to all-in-one destinations.

And also noone wants to do the upkeep :(

Oh oops yeah I misread your "tweet" 😅 yeah the community is a bit difficult to navigate. I do wish something more like the forums existed. There's a forum functionality on discord now but I dunno how useful that would be since i don't think it's indexed by Google 🤷‍♂️

2 years ago 0 0 1 0

Yeah it's unfortunate that the forum isn't getting updated, the burnout of social medias (way too many) is real. Physics Jam had happened already, here are details & winners: itch.io/jam/physics-...

Don't think SA Game Jam is ongoing. I can't recall. But my memory is fallible :p

Instagram just tried to sell me a verified badge for $15/month. (Or a "discounted" $24/month for both fb + Insta accounts!)

I guess musk is trend setting in all the worst ways.

Astounded at the frequency of posts in game design groups that amount to "here's a barebones designless game idea, design my game please"

At best, it's an arms race between those peddling their wares and those consuming. At worse, too many of the consumers just don't care.

The trend I'm seeing of lefty-seeming celebrities siding with Isreal and normies without oodles of wealth siding with Palestine... What's your read?

It's like the eternal push/pull between full anarchy vs governance. It's never perfect for everyone because there's no such thing as perfect when it comes to "everyone".

Yeah totally I get you, and I understand that it is working towards a good outcome. Would have to see how it works out in the end. I don't think it's necessarily hard - it is kinda like an intentional barrier, it's just... a barrier.

2 years ago 0 0 2 0

It's an interesting change, it increases the barrier to hashtag usage. Makes it harder to abuse but also feels less democratic. I think the net effect will probably be less bad actors because they'll mostly be lazy.

Ah, yeah that didn't make sense to me, but now it does. Gotcha.

It is *entirely* possible that I missed it or did not understand it. Thanks 🙈🙏

Huh I just realised that I can't make a feed for myself, so what does it take to make a feed? This feels... Restrictive. But sure, it certainly is the control you've said it is.
