I like that the family is being considered. It’s the reason I got involved with this population to begin with. I unfortunately come from a large extended family who has had lots of family members involved with the legal system. So by default, I was exposed.

The legitimizing of how the system works by calling them ‘justice involved’ is much more insulting than the word offender.

I won’t say ‘justice involved’ because I worked in that system & ‘unjust’ doesn’t come close to how bad it is. I’ve thought about this a lot. Maybe forensic mental health counseling -forensic populations - maybe legally-involved.
