The above two posts are something I said in December but quickly deleted because they were a subtweet of someone criticizing me, and I was afraid of how they'd react if they saw it. I'm now free from that concern and can stand by my opinion. Getting mad at games while also having fun is valid.

I've seen people get way more emotionally involved in watching sports (which I don't understand but won't criticize) than I get in the games I play. If I get a bit frustrated when things go wrong in a fast-paced game, that's a legitimate part of the experience that I'm willingly partaking in.

Doing something difficult in a game and being grateful you never have to do it again doesn't mean you didn't enjoy yourself or it was a waste of your time. It's okay to be proud that you did something challenging, and for that to have been the full extent of the experience you had with a game.

With the name Skullcrusher, and Autechre listed as an influence, I was expecting something jarring, but instead it's an angelic voice and a soothing bittersweet progression with a simple electronic beat and a little bit of distinctive quirkiness (time signature and ending). Playing it on repeat.

I was looking up Boards of Canada due to immense hype (their first release cycle since I became a fan 10 years ago) and I found an interview with an artist named Skullcrusher where she cited BoC and Autechre's sound design as primary influences.

My god, this is really nice.

The Turkish beverage "şalgam" (which is fermented purple carrot, turnip, and bulgur processed into a thin salty juice) tastes like tears. It makes me feel like I've been crying spicy tears which are now running into my mouth. Despite how that sounds, I think I'm going to keep buying and drinking it.

Recently, a YouTuber / streamer I enjoy watching did a challenge run of the game, using Qirex because it has the worst handling. But as of now, I can say that I can *only* manage to win with Qirex. All the others feel too slow.

I might try again and see if practice was actually the main factor.

Spent 3 hours last night attempting the Rapier championship in Wipeout on the original PlayStation. I tried every team, and kept failing until I switched to Qirex, then did it on my first attempt with them. Despite Qirex having the worst handling, I feel like you need their speed to be able to win.

Learned a bit of Vimscript in the past few days, and I'm really surprised at how competent it is as a scripting language. Like, I might prefer to use it over Lua (which Neovim mostly replaces it with). Or I'm just dazzled because my expectations were low. But wow, array destructuring assignment.

Honesty without compassion is cruelty.

(Not my quote. Really resonates with me, though.)

It's not too distant from the usual genre of music I'm into (IDM). It's intelligent and danceable. And music. I think. Ooh, and they're Canadian.

Kept hearing things about the band "Angine de Poitrine" so I finally checked out their KEXP performance. Instrumental rock music with a fair amount of repetition, odd but groovy time signatures, and microtonality that still strives to sound good and interesting. Fun, impressive, and not too weird!

Remind me to delete LinkedIn. It sends at least one useless notification per day, sometimes saying my profile showed up in a search, sometimes mentioning old schoolmates' names as if they said something to me (they didn't), and on this occasion, asking me to play a puzzle game with coworkers.

PhantomRaven: NPM Malware Hidden in Invisible Dependencies PhantomRaven NPM malware hides in invisible dependencies, silently compromising projects and putting entire software supply chains at risk.

But a few days later, I learned that this was part of a known malware campaign nicknamed PhantomRaven and exposed in October 2025. How was this not taken down by January? Why is it so hard to find info on PhantomRaven with keyword searches? This is horribly overlooked.

18 days ago when I posted this, I reported the domain to AWS. It was taken down a day later. The NPM packages were also updated to remove their malicious dependencies (but they're not completely delisted for a reason I don't understand)?

To those who accept me for who I am, thank you; you're the ones keeping me stable enough to make progress in my life. I've realized (through my doctor) how important a positive support system is, and I'm trying to grow mine. But I also need to be thankful that I'm already not alone.

On Twitter, I used to lock my account and vent very negative thoughts when my depression flared up, then deleted and unlocked. I can't do that here, and I would never want to go back to doing that anyway.

Depression comes in waves. This winter has been extra tough. I'll get through it as always.

Thanks to all the restaurants that send push notifications and emails to say "It's the Super Bowl! Buy our food today! We don't have any deals, but like, please buy our food today!" I love getting ads directly to my notification drawer.

There's been no action taken in 2 days. Not sure how long NPM is supposed to take to address a malware report for a package that has a completely unknown insecure URL in its package.json from which you can download and view clearly malicious JS source code.

It's a bit crazy to me that you can just provide a link to any virus-hosting website in your dependencies list, and npm will gladly download, extract, and then execute arbitrary code found at that link, without any prompt, as part of a simple install command.

I was affected, and I have reported the package as malware. Beware.

The following NPM user "jpdjpd" / "Dharshan" is typosquatting three different eslint plugins, and serving malware that scrapes your environment variables, git credentials, and hardware details, and sends them to jpartifacts(dot)com as soon as you install their packages.

Oops, it just so happens that the person who flooded Bandcamp with 23 undisclosed AI-generated albums in 5 months and spammed Reddit with them just had their account taken down. I hope everyone snagged that ~$700 USD discography purchase in time. So worth it...

The fact that it's a random AI narrator telling a dumb story about Family Feud (as opposed to a talking deepfake claiming to be Jimmy Kimmel and telling you what political opinions to have) makes it so much less bad. Still awful, though.

Steve Harvey STOPS Everything for Foster Girl's Life Changing Moment YouTube video by Steve Harvey: Beyond the Applause

The deepfake Jimmy Kimmel political commentary YouTube channel with AI-generated scripts containing nonexistent "exact quotes" from world leaders has been terminated! I am so thankful for this.

But a new AI slop channel with the same name exists now. Family Feud fanfiction.

I'm never going to call a human an "it". I can't believe that there are people who use that as their preferred pronoun. I feel like respecting that pronoun goes beyond the bounds of what I can do; I'm not dehumanizing someone, even on their request. (And this is what AGDQ is making me think about.)

Compilation titled "my cat is so cute" but the uploader doesn't own a cat, nor are they a real person, and it's actually 10 different stolen cat clips and a couple of undisclosed AI-generated clips for good measure, all the comments are completely positive, and your grip on sanity loosens.

Apparently Norway breaks from the European standard and does it like the Americas as well. Good call, Norway!

...Because here's Finland.
