The Canadian 🇨🇦 govt, and its Minister of AI and Innovation, is rushing headlong into full blown AI.

All gas, no brakes, no real consultation

Prime Minister, I hope you mean real commitment to international law, and not just when its convenient or benefits us. I litigate human rights frequently against the Canadian Government and too often see the "gaps between rhetoric and reality".

Carney’s speech in Davos is troubling for those who believe in international law and human rights. He calls it a “fiction” that was useful to Canada bc we benefited, so long as we kept quiet about the “gaps between rhetoric and reality”. Kudos for calling out our own hypocrisy?

This has been my view for some time. Trade is important, but in this current global environment there are bigger concerns. The US needs to understand there are consequences for its actions.

CAF needs to consider whether Brig General McBride can be permitted to participate in an operation that poses a serious risk of violating international human rights law.

As the academic study of war tells us, leaders make miscalculations and mistakes in assessing risk, which results in wars. When it comes to geopolitical security, that's the problem with "3D chess" rather than a rule-based order.

There are no lawful grounds whatsoever to revoke his citizenship. His mother was a Canadian citizen so he was born Canadian as a birthright.

Charlie is a great defender of Canada but I strongly oppose this petition. Citizenship isn't something that we revoke or take away because we don't like someone's political ideology or opinions, even if they are odious. Human rights are for everyone.

Final arguments on Jan 28-30 in Abdelrazik trial. Arbitrarily detained, tortured, and exiled, all by actions of Cdn govt officials. CSIS worked with Sudan Intelligence, known for brutality, to keep Canadian in jail without charge for 2+ years, then helped put him on no-fly lists to block return home

I'm trying to engage with many of those folks. (At least the ones who don't have long numbers in their handle/username.) Even though they are saying confrontational and false things, its important IMO to keep talking to those we disagree with.

Read entire King judgment last night. Judge found "overwhelming evidence" that King and others planned "an occupation of downtown Ottawa by 100s of large trucks; to gridlock the area; and to cause acute distress to residents, merchants and workers by continuous honking of truck horns". Case closed.

Pat King convicted on five counts of mischief. Judge concluded the Convoy horn honking was "malicious conduct" that was intended to harm the people of downtown Ottawa.

The judgment reads a lot like our pleadings in Convoy Class Action.
