I am told @reform-uk-official.bsky.social have posted Colne Valley flyers for Kirklees to my Calderdale constituents in Outlane. You’d have thought of all people Reform would respect a border!

Only one in 20 doctors accused of sexual misconduct get struck off At least 1031 complaints alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, attempted rape and rape have been made to the GMC since 2018, figures show.

Very pleased to see the work I’ve done on sexual misconduct in medicine being featured in the Daily Mail this weekend www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

This week we launched the national cancer plan. It will revolutionise research, care, treatment and survival for cancer sufferers.

This has been lauded by doctors and cancer charities alike.

I’m proud to be in parliament fighting for our cancer treatment to be the best in the world.

Sexual misconduct in the medical profession
Sexual misconduct in the medical profession YouTube video by Joshua Fenton-Glynn

"The level of sexual misconduct we see in the medical workforce is staggering"

The words of the head of the General Medical Council in response to my FOI request that found only 53 out of nearly 1,000 reports of sexual misconduct lead to a doctor suspended or struck off.

Andrew Gwynne was very kind when my brother passed away. I wouldn’t seek for a second to justify or defend his WhatsApps. But it’s honestly quite sad that the end of a 20 year parliamentary career due to ill health is being viewed through the lens of Labour psychodrama.

I was proud to add my name to this call for a ban on social media for under 16s. The evidence is becoming increasingly clear that the pressure and emotional toll that social media is having a negative impact on our young people and we should do what we can to protect them from that.

To be fair it shouldn’t surprise us that Farage welcomes Frauds into Reform. Seems on brand.

I have to say that running for the leadership of a party then going to join a different one when you don’t get your own way really is a shoddy way to behave. I’ve been involved in the Labour party for 26 years now, I can’t imagine treating the activists I’ve worked with with such little respect.

Today the government announced northern powerhouse rail, the biggest investment for generations in northern infrastructure. I used the announcement to push for the electrification of the Calder Valley line something the Conservatives promised in 2015 before cancelling it.

Have started training for the London Marathon this week. While trying to add 50m at the end of my run to make it 16k yesterday I ran onto some cobbles and absolutely stacked it on what turned out to be sheet ice. I love running but there is no joy on days like that.

I have campaigned on a number of issues beyond my party. Family court reform, disability rights etc. it’s important to be able to engage with wider opinion formers which at present Twitter allows me to do.

Hopefully as alternatives improve more of the debate will migrate here.

Government Advertising: Social Media - Hansard - UK Parliament Hansard record of the item : 'Government Advertising: Social Media' on Thursday 6 March 2025.

to those condemning me for not leaving X entirely (social media!) it’s where a large proportion of the political media remain and government departments (something I’ve worked personally to address hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2025...) I don’t believe you can ignore it entirely.
