Yes! With my 1st gr. "I love all the detail you put in this sentence. Let's read it out loud and see how it sounds." They will stop and say, "wait I want to change something.." and come back with better word order/spelling! Or "I like your start, can you tell me more about...?" #TeacherEd #grading

These are great ideas for making studying or taking the test less stressful! I think the physical movement (egg hunt) or collaboration (build the test) are great ways to help keep different learners all engaged.
A4 I stress their strengths: "You write so nicely!", "This is a great drawing to show what you know." I also focus on self awareness strengths: "great job washing your face after lunch!", and to use words to share how they are feeling and to ask questions (1st grade). #TeacherEd #SpEd
A3 I plan classwork with hands-on components. For assessments I provide extra time and help reviewing the directions, for writing tasks, I require less writing so the student is not overwhelmed. If the task is 5 facts, I will ask for 2 or 3.
A2 In my classroom I give my students breaks to help them refocus: Get water, help pass out materials, or answer a questions about our daily routine. This helps redirect them without drawing attention to their behavior or making them feel singled out in a negative way.

A1 I find that when I plan whole group lessons with hands-on activities, integrate music and small group work, I am better able to support my students who need extra support and keep my other students engaged. #TeacherEd #SpEd
