Adam Schefter: Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said that, after losing their starting center Tyler Linderbaum to the Raiders, they were interested in pairing together Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby. But Crosby’s medical exam put an end to that discussion.

The scuttled Crosby deal “hasn’t stopped my phone from ringing.” He said the team has good relationship with agents and GMs

DeCosta says they pivoted to Trey Hendrickson when they couldn't re-sign Tyler Linderbaum. He suggests they wanted Crosby and Hendrickson.

Mike Garafolo: DeCosta says they started talks with Trey Hendrickson after they lost Tyler Linderbaum. So the plan at one point was to have both Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby. Ultimately, the negotiations with Hendrickson ramped up to being finalized today.

To focus on the football part of the Crosby drama for a second--Hendrickson is a *very* different player. Better pressure/pass rush win rates, but a vastly inferior run defender.

Ravens had to do it, of course, but, looking at the depth chart, they need help setting the edge in Minter's defense.

the most unnacceptable Crosby take is that it will hurt their reputation so much it impacts their ability to operate. grow up!

No, and I wish nothing but the best for Maxx. I really hope he is healthy and ready to go, but the Ravens medical staff found an issue, and they didn't feel great about the deal with his issue. Plain and simple.

I don't believe the Raiders are in cap hell, and if they are, then that is on them entirely for making these deals before everything was official. Sorry.
