When I decided to start a fantasy worldbuilding project I was faced with the challenge of learning to draw environments. As a character artist this was way out of my comfort zone. I still have a lot to learn, but just making them exist is half the battle! You can make it good later!

Don't know if this counts, but my kid is 5. He loves Gumluck the Wizard, by Adam Rex. He really needs gentle low stakes stuff - the exciting adventure seems to stress him out, but if it's too low stakes he feels like it's "for babies." It's hard to find a happy medium.
