For women, the increase of AI use in the workplace may affect their careers: Harvard study Women are using AI significantly less then men and it’s going to have a major impact on their careers, according to extensive research on the topic.

Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."

Women are lagging behind on AI but they can catch up Curiosity, experimentation and learning are crucial if women are to shape the future of work

Counterpoint: Women are ahead of the curve on knowing AI is bullshit.

In a few years (max) when people start asking why we thought AI was a good idea I am creating a record that we did NOT think it was a good idea and the main reason people were ever convinced was billions of dollars of propaganda

If be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous about the storms we were supposed to get this PM. But now that it looks like the Metro is threading the needle and avoiding all the serious weather threats, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed.

Welcome to the Great Internet Splintering I don't know where to post; there are too many social media platforms, and the old giants are dying. But a fragmented internet could be better.

Social media can be fun, just for "the discourse" and the memes, but the massive platforms don't feel "social" enough for me to really put my heart into them. I prefer more direct personal connections. So nice that things seem to be trending that way again!

So a lot of people who are in unstable, abusive, and/or periodically violent living situations keep cell phones hidden for emergencies.

If you know anyone in such a situation, make sure they know about FEMA's testing of its Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system next Wednesday.

If you know anyone who keeps a mobile phone stashed for escaping an abuse situation, this is critical. Actual time is Wed, Oct 4, 2:20 ET

Musk ruined a network of social contacts I had built over the course of more than a decade and I haven’t had the strength to rebuild it somewhere else yet. I just find people again randomly like we’re all on life rafts adrift in the ocean after the Titanic sank.

Brody was born in the shelter, mother was a stray. I adopted him when he was 9.5 weeks old, and he's been my faithful shadow for over 11 years.

He's been with me through so much, but now he has a fast-growing cancer and isn't long for this world. He's a sweet boy and I'm going to miss him so much💔

Algorithmic vs chronological is the difference between “I want to see posts” vs “I want to be part of a conversation”

2/ First off, "healthy foods" is a bullshit term we need to get rid of. A PERSON is healthy, and ANY foods can support good heath, depending on how much and in what combinations.

But also, how are fruit, vegetables, raisins, or crackers "protein-rich"? ugh

1/ Drives me nuts when the school sends home stuff at the beginning of the school year that says stuff like, "We will have a designated snack time each day. Please send a healthy/protein rich snack like fruit, vegetables, raisins, or crackers".
