The FISA flop, plus Republicans can’t stop fighting each other An audacious play by Johnson to pass a five-year extension of Section 702 of FISA failed spectacularly just before 1:30 a.m.

In a big loss for Mike Johnson, the House rejected his proposed reauthorization of a little-known law that lets the government sidestep the Constitution and spy on US citizens.

This fight isn’t over, so make sure your representative hears from you: act.indivisible.org/sign/tell-co...

The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office.

The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.

A manateam of manytees (three chonky little manatees floating in a tank)

In Portuguese a manatee is called peixe-boi (or “bull fish”) and in Dutch zeekoe (or “sea cow”). In English a group of manatees is called an aggregate of manatees, though I think a better term would be either a “manateam” or “manytees” (in the same way a group of dugongs should be called a “dugang”)

Xtra points, Guardian, for taking an opportunity to use "bullshit" 18 times in the piece.

"Crackdown" is the most misused term in coverage of our fascist authoritarianism. It's defined as "severe measures to restrict or discourage undesirable or illegal people or behavior." What is unconstitutional & illegal is the so-called "crackdown" itself. #BrokenTimes

This is just going to continue escalating and getting worse.

Trump's reaction to being cornered by events he cannot dismiss or control or make someone else's problem is to lash out with increasing violence.

Remember, his reax to COVID was first to attempt to kill protesters, then the US Congress.
