She was granted withholding of removal from India *decades* ago, and had been living and working legally (including for the U.S. government!) ever since.
But with third country removals now a real option, TSA shared her data with ICE and they arrested her at the airport on her way to a job.

With the Trump DOJ moving to vacate the Jan. 6 seditious conspiracy convictions against key members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, it’s worth remembering some of the video and audio evidence presented in their cases.

This is lunacy.
I think it's a good thing OPB followed on my reporting about Axon's play to control the AI market in law enforcement and this story is worth reading. Not linking to @thewesternedge.bsky.social clearly is a choice from people at the top afraid we will eat their lunch though.
GEO Group is obstructing our efforts to inspect the Northwest ICE Processing Center.
The law is clear. We are going to do what it takes to get our health inspectors into that facility.

"ICE agents will be stationed outside graduation events for the nation’s newest Marines to identify whether any of their family members are undocumented, according to the Marine Corps."
We live in a time when the federal government considers it taboo to name officers. I asked @sergioolmos.bsky.social about his team's decision to identify five Border Patrol officers who spent last year traveling the country and violently arresting people -- and the inevitable criticism they'd face.
And while this has definitely slowed things down, protests still happen. All the time. But when federal and state governments seem to collude with your own college to oppress a (literal) teach-in and poetry reading in condemnation of genocide, it tens to have a chilling effect.
The local honey trick...try eating some local honey pollinated with local allergens.
Im 30 minutes into this and it is outstanding so far. It is an interview about Milestone and Static. But if you listen it's really an interview about being Black in comics, and just in society at the present moment.

Judges in one of the nation’s largest court systems have started using artificial intelligence, testing a tool that can rapidly distill hundreds of pages of legal motions and use samples of a jurist’s writing style to help reach conclusions and even draft tentative rulings.
There has been an alarming development in our legal system. Judges are starting to contract with a private corporation started by an ex-Palantir employee--whose bio says he is also a former speechwriter for Israel's UN ambassador--to have **secretive proprietary AI help decide cases for them.**
“I need someone here now, or else I’m going to have to shoot this kid,” an ICE officer told a Portland police dispatcher in late October, when he realized his vehicle was being tailed by someone on a motorized bike.

Welcome to Portland.
Today marks four years since the Normandale Park Shooting, when a Andy Ngo-following Nazi-fur shot and killed June Knightly, and wounded four in Portland, OR.
In 2024, "Deg," who became paralyzed from the neck, chose to be taken off of their ventilator. Deg's death was then ruled a homicide.

I think I've woken up to them outside the house twice now? I'm okay with it - time wasted trying to scare me is time spent not kidnapping a vulnerable neighbor.
Anyway if you go out at fuckass o'clock with your phone in one hand and a whistle ready in the other, they see you and leave lol.

ICE is still in my Minneapolis neighborhood today.
It should be obvious that criticizing ICE—or any government agency—on social media is protected by the First Amendment.
It is not a crime.

Immigration agents have left Terminal Island staging area, congresswoman says lbpost.com/news/immigra...
A Friday immigration raid and the alleged detainment of an elderly woman in a quiet San Francisco neighborhood has ignited concern among advocates and drawn a response from Mayor Daniel Lurie.
My statement on the reports of decreased immigration enforcement activity at Terminal Island:
