I don't fully agree on that. I think that one should have security and predictability as a baseline condition of being a worker in the 21st century. The gig economy and the massive increase in contract work are not in service of the average worker. They are in service of The Line Must Go Up Forever.

Accountability should be part of basic human integrity. Not a part of job structure where the people who make the deals need to place blame on the people who deliver the goods. Whether those goods are electric cars, boxes of cereal, video games, educated students, or anything else, doesn't matter.
