🚨WHOA. The El Paso Medical Examiner says it will rule the death of a 55-year-old Cuban man at ICE's "Camp East Montana" tent camp as a homicide.
He was allegedly choked to death by a guard during a "struggle" after he refused to enter a housing unit without his medications.

To hear the Oglala tribal president tell it, they are withholding the men and any information about them until the Oglala sign some kind of agreement with ICE
Tens of thousands of Sudanese have fled to overcrowded camps to escape reported atrocities by a paramilitary force since it captured el-Fasher in the western Darfur region, an aid group said Saturday, and the U.N. human rights chief warned that many others remain trapped. https://to.pbs.org/49Omiz8

ICE Refuses to Allow Mahmoud Khalil to Hold His Newborn Son Mr. Khalil's legal team filed a letter requesting the federal court overseeing Mr. Khalil's case order ICE to permit a family contact visit **There will be also be a virtual press briefing tonight at 5:30 pm ET (register here)** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 21, 2025 CONTACT: ACLU Media, media@aclu.org Center for Constitutional Rights, press@ccrjustice.org JENA, LA - In a decision that underscores the government's ongoing retaliation against Mahmoud Khalil in response to his advocacy in support of Palestinian rights, officials from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and private prison contractor GEO Group have refused to allow a contact visit between him and his family. The officials cite a blanket no-contact visitation policy at the Central Louisiana ICE Processing Center (CLIPC) and unspecified "security concerns" relating to the presence of a mother and newborn baby in an unsecure part of the facility. ICE's refusal comes after multiple requests from Mr. Khalil's legal team that point to federal policies explicitly encouraging contact visits between detained parents and their ies tie the act iths children. Mr. Khalil's team has also noted that permission for family visits like these are routinely granted at facilities like the Elizabeth Detention Center in New Jersey, where his attorneys have requested he be transferred. Mr. Khalil's wife, Dr. Noor Abdalla, traveled over 1400 miles from New York to the Central Louisiana ICE Processing Center (CLIPC) in Jena, Louisiana, bringing their newborn child in the hopes of a contact visit - one where her husband could meet, touch, and hold his son for the very first time. Instead, facility administrators have repeatedly denied these requests and have insisted the visit proceed behind glass, where no human touch is possible. "I am furious at the cruelty and inhumanity of this system that dares to call itself just," said Dr. Noor Abdalla. "After flying o…

They traveled over 1500 miles — hoping Mahmoud could see and hold them for the first time since his arrest over 10 weeks ago.

This is the GiveSendGo fundraiser link I've seen for Rodney Hinton Jr., it has been spoken on by several online influencers including Faith Hayward who said she spoke directly to Rodney's wife. I'm not in a position to verify it myself. www.givesendgo.com/Rodneyhinton...
Rodney Hinton, Jr., a Black man wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, mean mugs a crowd of police as he is led past them in court
I haven't seen the same outpouring of support for Rodney Hinton, Jr. that we saw for Luigi Mangione. GoFundMe took down the fundraiser for Hinton, who is accused of killing an officer shortly after he watched bodycam footage of police killing his 18-year-old son.
The Trump administration is reportedly planning to deport Laotian, Vietnamese, and Philippino individuals to Libya.
Not only are these individuals being denied due process, but they have zero ties to Libya and Libyan migration detention is infamous for extensive abuses.
A letter from Harvard University addressed to the Harvard community. It discusses the institution's historical commitment to expanding human knowledge and building a diverse community. It cites President Garber’s message, emphasizing the need to comply with the Supreme Court ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, which makes it unlawful to use race in admissions decisions. The letter stresses the importance of embracing diversity legally and fostering empathy, understanding, and a culture where differences become sources of learning.
Continuation of the letter from Harvard University. It references findings from the 2024 Pulse Survey, noting that while many feel a sense of belonging, fewer form relationships across different viewpoints. It stresses the need to foster connections and create a culture of belonging. The Office of Community and Campus Life will refocus on providing forums for schools, expanding programs for engagement, and enhancing support for first-generation and low-income students. Signed by Sherri Ann Charleston, Chief Community and Campus Life Officer.
Harvard just scrapped it's office of Diversity Inclusion and Belonging and has renamed it the office of campus and community life. They will move focus from underrepresented minorities to first generation and low income students instead.
Resegregation comes to Harvard.

Dear Dr. Abdelhadi, The Keough School of Global Affairs, which houses the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, recently learned of your keynote speech at their student conference next weekend. The University of Notre Dame requires that all events or lectures related to Israel/Palestine have ND Police security and planning. We were unaware of your planned lecture, and since this conference overlaps with two other annual events on campus, we cannot provide security at short notice. For this reason, we respectfully request that you do not participate in the conference. The Kroc Institute will honor any honorarium that was awarded for this event. We apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely, Mary Gallagher -- Mary E. Gallagher Marilyn Keough Dean Keough School of Global Affairs University of Notre Dame
I was scheduled to give a talk on Palestine at a student conference at @notredame.bsky.social. The University rescinded my talk a week in advance citing an extremely flimsy excuse. It is truly disgusting. Attached is the letter I received and my reply, link below...
I've been unable to think of little else since watching the video of masked secret police from ICE whisking away Rumeysa Ozturk - a shocking scene of police state repression I never hoped to see in America
What's even worse is why she was disappeared. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/rume...
When you arm cops to the teeth and watch them murder Black folks with impunity, then make a flag to show their pride in doing just that, don’t be surprised when they’re gleeful foot soldiers of the fascists. This is what they dreamed of.
I'm honored to kick off Sudan Solidarity Collective's new Workshops4Sudan fundraising initiative. Please sign up for my talk, 'Black Beyond Borders.' I'll discuss Black US migration, mobility, statelessness, and citizenship. I'll also discuss rejecting Black nativism and xenophobia!
I'm so excited to work with these new Crossroads Fellows over the next year.

The answer is procrastination due to perfectionism/a fear of failure. 🙃
