Exciting! Terrifying? Lots of things. Trying to work up the courage to listen to myself. But you should listen in the meantime.
Just some absolutely wonderful stuff in these.
@feldmanadam.bsky.social is right, you should go see this play. I'm especially amazed at his sharp eye: He noticed that a painting on the set is Ellis Wilson’s "Funeral Procession," the same one Clair Huxtable bought for her walls in COSBY's second season.🤯 www.timeout.com/newyork/thea...

They should be arrested!

Today, I drove to Portland Community College to be a book in an English as a 2nd Language class. The students could check out about a dozen of us, and ask us questions. It was a room full of communication and empathy. We reached toward each other with open hearts and good humor.
I will not stop telling the truth, being kind, and supporting my vulnerable neighbors and friends. No Nazis! The Resistance begins with each of us.

As I work on my play STRANGE BIRDS at UCSB, this poem by Lucille Clifton resonates. It's been rather extraordinary, focusing on the voices of five women (and one wolf!) in this little feminist thriller.
