We know the issue is tonsils. It's quite obvious.
I would like to know when I, the parent, bill-payer, consumer, lost control of what doctors I could take my child to?
What is the worst that happens? The ENT tells us it's not a problem and I pay for the visit? Why am I not allowed to do this? 3/3

I find this completely insane.
I also have a kid who really needs to see an ear/nose/throat dr for some pressing tonsil issues. Like. Our dentist is BEGGING us to get him in because it's affecting his teeth.
Our GP has gate-kept this referral forcing us to start w/sleep study, etc. 2/

Our health insurance now makes us only "eligible" for virtual urgent care visits at our local urgent care franchise.
Not every issue can be addressed virtually, so I'm left driving almost an hour to the nearest facility that takes our insurance bc going to our own dr is no longer a thing. 1/

My grandparents were married the summer of 1955 and went to Disneyland on their honeymoon. I always track that anniversary by how long DL has been open. 🩵

Husband (who is basically allergic to yard work) comes running up the stairs, “look out the window! [neighbor] is weeding with a flame thrower! That’s so cool!”
Yesterday: “did you know [neighbor] has a roomba lawnmower??”
Do we just need better gadgets? 😂

All you Panicans saying the Iranians closed the Strait of Hormuz, didn’t even bother to check its hours of operation.

We are on quite a hill and then our house is probably 15’ above the street from there so lots of boulders to terrace. I think the moat was a pretty cool feature to build in. When I was a kid I wished it had water in it because further down it goes down a hill so could be a cool waterfall.

Would be nice to know what exactly IS going on in Iran.

I do not understand why cassettes aren’t used more here. The wall units are so so ugly.

Not my parents, but I remember the sort of golden family of the ward definitely told their kids this.

I am seriously struggling to get anything done. I hate phases like this. I just want to sit on my couch and look out the window. Too bad I don’t get paid to do that.

Just trim before August. That's about when new blooms start their little journeys.

I can hardly wait to see what they make me do for another project where the very top corner of the lot has like 5’ of riparian corridor.

I have a very small renovation (moving stairs, finishing basement) in Seattle that’s going on 4 months now, which seems excessive. Haven’t even seen any corrections. They wouldn’t allow an STFI bc a part of the lot (not where we are working!) is inside the buffer zone for an old landfill.

When we were in Todos Santos, Mexico, they had these shops that sold turtle figurines of enormous size full of opals of all colors. They were so pretty.

Goes right along with my pet soapbox issue which is a death of respect for expertise.

Yes. I grew up in a particularly conservative suburb of SEATTLE and heard all this nutso Armageddon stuff on the regular in the 90s. Scared the crap out of me.
That was a weird hill for him to die on with so much documentation.
