People need to realize the filibuster wasn’t meant to have a practical effect but to be a symbol and a rally point. Beating Thurmond’s record isn’t a hollow victory at all.
Booker etched his name into Senate history by breaking Thurmond’s filibuster record and putting a stop to business as usual. Judge Crawford won decisively in Wisconsin despite Musk's $$$$$, and Republicans suffered unexpected setbacks in Florida.
Just think of today as a historic landmark.. think of that 1957 & Thurmond statement wasted NOW forever in history books, Cory Booker has changed history today..Thank you @booker.senate.gov
