think it is still significant tbf but obv could have been even worse. it looked that way on sun

Also line in this piece earlier in April about Mykolenko's situation. Club option for year extension, as previously reported (ditto Keane), and most likely outcome atm is an extension before further assessment of situation this summer
Jarrad Branthwaite in line to miss remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained in Sunday's Merseyside derby

For the masochists out there, an attempt to come to terms what happened to Everton in the Merseyside derby
Always enjoy doing these pods with @mattjfootball.bsky.social, but this one was tougher than most...

Happy Monday. Bah humbug
Is there a point at which - hopefully soon - we can stop having to watch these rather cringy clips of people 'drinking' tears? Feels like it was never funny in the first place and has already been done far too much
Hi mate. Asked the question this morning but no confirmation yet on this. Would have already reported otherwise
Shoulder to shoulder misses the point. There's another angle that shows he clips KDH on way through
For 25 mins and then they never recovered. opportunity missed
to be clear, I did not say 'almost'. i do not write the headlines. but my point in the piece was that this was one of the most galling derby defeats for some time, mainly because of the fact that it was there to win for everton
he would not be brought on up front mate. even for 21s he's playing wide left
Don't think Everton were particularly good immediately before the equaliser mate. LFC ended first half stronger and were better, IMO, at the start of the second. Such a difference between first 25 and everything else. Disallowed goal seemed to sap the life out of them and fans
I don't think he is awful. He has had some good moments since he joined. But the sub display was not impactful at all and Beto is the clear first pick atm. Feels like a lot has changed since mid season when it was Barry with the momentum
they were there for the taking and everton blew it. struggling to get beyond that atm. maybe it'll feel different in a few days
yep, wrote in that piece that they did not test Woodman anywhere near enough. everton much the better side for 25 mins until disallowed goal. think they go on and win if that goes their way. rest of it was not great imo. always felt liverpool more likely to sneak it at 1-1
huge difference. lost the ability to get and stay up the pitch
yep, was just giving a few examples. of course there were others
Liverpool were meant to be the fallible ones but this derby was decided by Everton's inability to overcome setbacks - disallowed goal, Beto's injury
Familiar derby story for #EFC. Frustration given how well they played in first 25

Jarrad Branthwaite seen leaving the stadium on crutches. Moyes said he was "worried" by the defender's injury but tests will determine full severity of the issue

HT Everton 0-1 Liverpool
#EFC much the better side up to O'Brien's disallowed goal but haven't really recovered from blow. Salah scores soon after and completely different game since
Struggled to regain early impetus and started to make bad decisions on ball
Boos for officials
Great pre-match atmosphere
Not aware of an injury at this stage
🥱
Same last weekend
Everton unchanged
Liverpool squad arrive at the stadium
Nice day for it. Already busy on Regent Rd & around stadium
