WHY DID BBC BREAKFAST GIVE REFORM UK A SPECIAL GRAPHIC?
A small detail in a brief report sparks some big questions about what the national broadcaster is doing during the run up to local and national elections.

*good academic prose. several times this year have I been at the point where I can write the essay days before deadline, but all that comes out is a watery, murky mess I don't even recognise as my own. I know I'm such a dick for it but it truly is never my best possible work unless I'm sweating
on every morning, like this one, when I wake up with six hours to write 2000 words because I have, genuinely, been irreversibly conditioned to only ever produce good prose under pressure, I thank god that Challengers came out during my undergrad finals. horny bisexual competitiveness go brr
'hamnet-era'
genuinely cannot believe what i've just listened to there. what a mistake to make

I have tried living "in the moment;" I would like to select a different, funner moment
...and I extend 'family member' to family members, members of the community I grew up in, school friends' parents, odd school friends themselves, old football coaches, etc etc.
socially, politically, technologically, it's fascinating. but it's also normal, what I now accept as a fact of life; I'm young enough to not really remember an entirely un-radicalised family member
I frequently intellectualise/analyse everything, but in experiencing this my brain has just gone dark
this is entirely a self-centred reaction, but when this has been happening slowly, predictably, a depressive rhythm pulsing in the background of my life that's spent years getting louder and louder, I do wince at some reactions to it as zoo-like activity of a world beyond them
A grim, interesting read here, and a situation I’m sure is familiar to many people in Britain and elsewhere.
A toxic combination of people being hugely suggestible, and the traditional political parties no longer representing anything culturally in their lives.

Vibrant street art in Limerick, Ireland. A standard street bollard is painted as a bright blue octopus head, with its tentacles sprawled playfully across the pavement for a local scavenger hunt.

Peter mandelsons entire career is like a cursed pharaohs amulet that kills everyone that tries to use its power and every other week some Labour party idiot picks up and goes have we tried using the pharaohs amulet

i anticipate the day where i'll feel content again to be sat down at a gig – today is not that day, not for two hundred quid, anyway
in queue for Strokes tickets sat in library (essay that doesn’t yet exist due in two days) with Reptilia playing in my headphones – constructing the most tense environment possible
ohhhh so perfectly dreamscape. so fun. just like heaven
and unless, ofc, they’re weird or bad or irritating, i do inherently root for any celebrity/artist in the same school year as me. right now she certainly feels like our class rep – we are lucky
ah this is great. love hearing the cure influences. on the whole this feels like an impressive, impressively natural progression – a clear elevation where she hasn’t let go of the fundamentals. as always, she captures her (and often my…) obsessions/delusions so acutely; so well. big fan
literally only just clocked that George Fouracres of SNL UK fame is the same George Fouracres I saw play Andrew Lloyd Webber in One Man Musical – that man is insanely talented

going out wearing my gold pendant on a silver chain completely blind to the fact i'm actively repelling all the rich middle-aged lesbians is a little tragic, actually
