Just a quick look at the news from across the Atlantic. Let’s see: they have a President they had to lock out, an FBI Director they couldn’t wake up, a Defense Secretary who prays for violence and some peace talks without the people they are at war with. That about right?
If you read right down to the bottom it says: “Palantir. Software that dominates”. Isn’t that just a clear giveaway?

Sure, £91k is the sort of money you could EASILY accidentally overlook in a tax return. Nothing to see here! But to accidentally over-claim a fraction of that amount in Benefits, well…[cue purple-faced outrage]

💥🇭🇺🗳️ WOW! 54.14% turnout by 1pm in Hungary’s historic election (vs 40.01% in 2022), where voters could end Viktor Orbán’s 16-year rule. Massive participation, in line with independent pollsters’ predictions – who also predicted a massive opposition win. Polls close at 7pm.
People across Lebanon were holding their breath for a ceasefire agreement, but a wave of deadly strikes plunged the country into panic and chaos. Many who had begun thinking of the moment when they might return to their homes have been rushing to streets and hospitals, searching for missing loved ones or seeking a safety that feels increasingly out of reach.”
We are outraged by the devastating death and destruction in densely populated areas across Lebanon today following intensified military operations.

Difficult to describe how unusual it is for @icrc.org to speak publicly like this.
"Heavy explosive weapons with wide-area effects struck densely populated urban areas, including the capital Beirut, without effective advance warnings."

The death penalty law passed by the Knesset last night is horrific and immoral – and it targets only Palestinians while Israeli settlers rampage through the West Bank and carry out deadly attacks. Everyone must stand against this legislation that solidifies apartheid.
Is heat a luxury? Then why charge VAT on it? Ireland & Norway cut duties to help citizens but in UK we're still waiting. Does WM Govt have any instinct for action? Plus beyond the headlines & disruption, why is our West Coast ferry service so bad? Listen lesleyriddoch.com/podcast
Anyone who describes Tate as an ‘important voice’ for young men doesn’t just ‘have links’ to extremists: they ARE extremists. We should never write the phrase Reform Party without a qualifier attached: the far-right Reform Party, the extremist Reform Party.
Let’s see then: Iran and the US had a deal, and Trump tore it up; the Iranians came back to the table; the US and Israel bombed them; they came back again and US-Israel bombed them again; now they have to come back to the table or face…getting bombed? Have I got this right?
🚨 THIS JUST IN: With over 100 protests still to come, we can already estimate that at least 8 million people participated in No Kings protests today.
That makes No Kings 3 the largest single day of protest in American history. #NoKings

Tunesia: human rights activist Saadia Mosbah sentenced to eight years in prison.
Her prosecution seems to form part of a broader pattern of intensifying repression of civil society in Tunisia.

Indeed - just saw it myself yesterday: an inspiring account of neighbourhood democracy in action!
Just back from watching Everybody to Kenmure Street at DCA Dundee. Excellent film & powerful riposte to those who doubt an entire Glasgow community would turn out to save two Sikh neighbours. But they did. So moving & uplifting. Go see it. Congrats Felipe Bustos Sierra.
