I finished another sweater. It’s from the cashmere I dyed with Phaeolus hispidoides (FKA P. schweinitzii)

She knew. She chose the yarn and gave me her favorite sweater to work to for size and shape. The yarn was so thick that I had to make it a coat.

On home made crust in a wood fired oven. I didn’t get a photo of the shrimp one but here is a simple tomato basil and cheese one

I’ve just finished this sweater coat with built in neck scarf. Color is much more like the close up photo.

That’s where I guessed you were because I see such a view above New Season on Sunnyside. I’m on Jubb between Redlands Road and Springwater. Near the Gerber Feed Store. Lots of great views from Springwater.

Shrimp, marinated artichoke hearts, very thinly sliced red onions, red pepper flakes, fresh mozzarella and olive oil

Shingles is horrible. My brother had it and he would recommend the vaccine for sure

I enjoy your sunrise photos especially because I’m not an early riser. I can almost guess where you live because I see a very similar view from my house. I live near McIver State Park

I had some this winter. They are a very tasty mushroom

They are calling it Phaeolus hispidoides now in the Pacific Northwest.

Onnia is probably gonna dry much thinner. I’ve been wondering about Onnia’s dye potential

I’m going to try this tomorrow. Thanks so much for sharing

This is the sweater so far. Part of the fun of mushroom dyeing is that some are fluorescent under black light. Fun for mushroom hunting after dark.

Mostly Phaeolus schweinitzii. I think one of the yellows was Letharia vulpina but the rest are Phaeolus

Never mind. I see the sweater

I can’t help but wonder what the end product of this knitting produced

Mostly of the sweater is Phaeolus schweinitzii (it has a new name but I haven’t learned it yet) with different mordants. The brightest yellows is Letharia vulpina. It glows under uv light

Really enjoyed appearing at San Jose State University this past week with wonderful people (and Pulitzer-winning cartoonists) Ann Telnaes and Mark Fiore, and celebrating Ann's win of the Hearst Award. Congrats, Ann, and thank you, SJSU!
