Well I don’t know that they are having problems right now so I’m gonna go see it tonight! This was also one of my first Godzilla movies, although it was the 1985 American version with Raymond Burr edited in 😆

Now if they’d just add a Mix control it would have everything!

Great vid! I still can’t quit CompressorBank largely because of the EQ panel on the right that nobody seems to talk about. A little dynamic cut in the upper mid does wonders for smoothing out a vocal as it gets loud, since it’s based on the compression amount rather than frequency like a dynamic EQ.

Sennheiser 602 inside and Shure KSM353 outside (not in front of the port since it’s a ribbon)

Tell your brain to stop being mean to my friend.

A Yamaha drum set with microphones placed for a recording session. I’m normally a LDC overheads kinda guy but for this the Shure KSM137 were perfect, and fast enough to keep up with the details.

A bass amp with a Shure KSM32 microphone in front of a speaker. Also took a DI line.

Guitar cabinet with a Royer 121 and Shure SM57 microphones. Pretty common combination but it just works for me, consistently, and I can adjust the placement and blend for the sound I want.

Some death metal recording from a couple weeks ago. Drummer requested no samples be used so we had to like, actually record good sounds. Love that. It’s not my usual genre but it turned out great.

Yeah, I think so too, but boy does it feel like we are being ignored. Certainly Trump won’t give a shit.

I’m going, but I have zero faith that we will be listened to. Not by Democrats, and certainly not by Republicans.

Decided to start reading The Call of Cthulhu on Hoopla because eldritch horror seems like a pleasant escape from reality.

When there’s an especially loud vehicle I like to yell after them “Sorry about your penis!”

I like open world too, but it feels a little silly, particularly for a track racing game. Maybe we can make the next Smash Bros open world too 😜

I think it’s hilarious that they have taken the success of Zelda open world approach to mean everything should be open world. DK? Go anywhere! Climb anything! Smash anything! Dig anywhere! Mario Kart? Drive anywhere off course! Drive to another course! We heard you like open world!

Maybe our humanity and our empathy comes from having at least a little bit of struggle. They just never had to be part of humanity.

Someone drew another swastika on a lamp in my neighborhood so we turned it into a game of tic tac toe. Forgot to get a before picture but you don’t want to see that filth anyway. (This was before April Fool’s Day so it wasn’t a joke.) Welcome back to Trump’s America.

Task for Gen Z: If “Ohio” means something is average or boring, I need you to start using “Texas” to mean stupid or asinine, especially intentionally. I’d do it myself but as a millennial my sway on pop culture is zero.

Gotcha. Back to regular old atheism then!
