It is so frustrating that "needs professional help" is seen as a derogatory remark.

If you need professional help, it's ideally stated with sympathy/empathy, not sneering derision.

That said, I've done it in the past; it's baked into our colloquialisms.

"Get some help"
"You're not right"
Etc.

I accidentally stood a friend up while driving my ferret to a dinner party. I need to stop doing that...

We have him outside right now!

We will be alright. It's just taxing :c

It's been very stressful since we got the puppy.
Our HVAC failed.
Our washing machine broke.
Our stereo system shorted.

And the worst is that our little Rummy, our white ferret boy, passed away.

We've been in a very rough spot.

You need maintenance.

We have a new addition to the weasel family!
