Sketch 24 - Ethan's Esther
It's Ethan8bit's birthday, so let's celebrate with a daily sketch I did of his mouse gal, Esther!
Everyone should go wish with them a happy birthday!

No, those things exist in the 3D viewport and cause navigational issues. Auto Rig Pro has a rig UI setup that just basically makes the controls really far under the character and it's annoying.
I'm using Bone Info for how I control my eye texture though.

Lots of making this stuff into functions so I can customize the buttons however I please.
I hate selecting fingers in the viewport, it always felt so annoying lol
It's honestly a little hard to explain. I came across an addon that added an interactive way to do easing in/out curves using a GUI, so I looked at the code and saw they were importing gpu and blf. So I've been looking into how it draws shapes and turning them into buttons that select pose bones.
Got into character modelling/rigging in blender recently~
Daaang!! Looking real good!
I found out you could create an empty custom node graph editor in Blender, so I experimented with drawing a whole rig GUI overlayed that you would typically see in a professional Maya rig.

You don't need to do any of this. You can just model whatever you want without touching needing to touch this. I just like doing new and complex things for my rig.
You should also have a UV Set that has the opposite side in a negative tile if you want to isolate the left from right
This is what the eye UV's look like
Nodes! A lot of this has switch logic to flip values
First image is my Texture Coordinate group that you can see in the second image.
Blender 5.1 added a Bone Info node, so I was able to replicate the Texture Coordinate node and directly access the bones instead of having to make an empty parented to a bone. This should save some performance having to no longer have a dummy object to transform the UV!
