I don’t think we can trust that the man who tried to dismantle health and safety efforts across the entire country with DOGE has any real concern for the safety of San Francisco residents and pedestrians when it comes to his untested robotaxis.

These public servants were doing their jobs, bravely responding to a fire, only to be ambushed by someone who shouldn’t have had access to a weapon—in a state with some of the most dangerous gun laws in the country.

This is horrifying. Two firefighters were killed and another wounded by a gunman who intentionally started a wildfire.

Today, I was proud to vote for a responsible and forward-looking state budget that protects critical services, invests in housing, health care, and education, and upholds our values in the face of economic uncertainty.

Call this what it is: Antisemitism. Homophobia. Hate.

Political violence has no place in a free society. We cannot accept a future where public servants are hunted for doing their jobs.
