I admit that I am also so used to your bright use of colors in your art, that this piece and its more monochromatic-like muted tones caught me by surprise in a good way! It's so different that it invoked a stronger emotional reaction towards the theme.
This is beautiful. I'm really taken by the floral linework - so delicate but fills so much of this out. Also alluding to the light poisoning as something... soft? Comforting as a nightlight? It hurts in the best heart-wrenchingly way possible; especially for someone like Jai and his motifs, I feel.
When I was a teen, an artist was wearing a lovely ring and I ID's the stone. She said "opal is my favourite gemstone," so i pulled out a tiny shard of fire opal I had since I was a kid out of my pouch and gifted it to her. She insisted I take something in return. It's the only 'trade' I've done. 😅
I really felt for Meteion, the Meteia, the EndSinger, their stories along the later lines of EW. How they were unfortunately set up to fail because of Hermes (whom I also quietly like) wanting the answer to a single brainworm; not expanding on various multiples. This portrays the same feelings.😭💙

I can only sympathize! I don't like a lot of onion, just a sprinkling, but so many places load it up. 😥 I have a family member who despises fish and shrimp, so people give them the same reaction as your issue! They, too, give the "I'm allergic" excuse for others to just leave them alone. ☹️

Emet-Selch was one of the characters I was especially proud to work on for the set. One of the greatest «villains » with a fantastic character building. So I paid a lot of attention to his pose and expression here.

Yes! Also on my end of the initial fixation into This Thing I Like *jazzhands@FFXIVEmet-Selch*, it became an emotional-turns-physical aspect of pain? Longing/pining for more would feel akin to heartache in both senses of the word. Utterly wild what our emotions are able to do to our bodies.
