But another sort of madness is born from inaction, The slow and quiet and dreadful sort, The sort which strangles ambition And paralyzes you with a numbing poison. My life is one of predictable rigidity, With ample opportunity for joy, But only of a certain kind, pre-approved, Screened for dangers ahead of time. I do not wish to only write poetry in a dark room; I wish to love, and love unreservedly, To be loved in kind and see my world transformed. I wish to evolve, to transcend these mortal bonds, To become more than just I, To discover dimensions altogether alien To a mind that holds its heart in reserve. I would become unfettered, Free to pursue my heart's desires, No matter the storm of change Which must inevitably wreak havoc in its wake.

I don't post my poetry too often because I get embarrassed when people don't care, but I'm trying to overcome that so... here
