An LGBTQ+ pride flag formatted in the layout of the SMPTE "color bars" test pattern used for broadcast television. The first set of columns use the colors of the gay pride flag, with the addition of the original SMPTE color on the final column. The second set of columns contains two pride flags - the pansexual flag horizontally, and the asexual flag flipped and horizontal. The final set of columns contains the three colors of the transgender flag and the two POC-inclusive colors, followed by the original bar gradient from the SMPTE ECR-1-1978 pattern.

I'm considering finishing playing System Shock, after all this time. I've probably only ever played the first bits, or barely at all (it's a wee bit hard to recall).

I really don't think I've ever seen a technology that is so singularly effective at taking a pre-existing form of rot or brokenness in institutions and lighting it on fire.

We are in so much trouble

Anybody positing that the problem with the games industry is that devs are too expensive is gonna get an instant block. For the cost of one EA CEO you could afford 213 devs making $120k apiece.

Read the room, my dudes; a LOT of very skilled people are out of work right now. Profits are trickling up

It's a shame the game just doesn't leave mechanics for opinionated choices. Agent 47 only shows emotion within cutscenes. That's even more obvious during Death of the Family (the pale attempt at Columbo).

Sigh. I love these games, but this is the most imperfect side of them.

There are a few exceptions to the "always a piece of shit" but the onus is on the player to digest that (No dialogue from Agent 47). One that comes to mind is Ljudmila Vetrova's motivation in The Last Resort can be revealed (overheard convos) as self-preservation from a violent husband.

I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

I'm hoping this place gets good traction, at least more than that other site it's intending to replace.

And be friendly. Significantly friendlier than that other unmentionably-mentioned site.

Well I'm here.

I don't know about here yet, but people send me links which would be nice to open sometimes.

Mastodon will probably remain my primary social-network home but everyone in all sorts of places still makes sense to me.
