This is a really lovely article and great to see neurodivergent kids get to see themselves in a mainstream show that isn’t promoted or labelled as specifically for them. It’s about making something where we can all feel seen rather than having pigeonholed shows.

Dear Film Industry,
Wouldn't it be nice to have a film version of WUTHERING HEIGHTS that was:
1. Filmed in Yorkshire
2. With actors that one could plausibly believe to be from Yorkshire
3. Of the right age (teens and 20s)
4. Actually scripted by someone who has read the book ALL the way through?

Every home turned to rubble is the home I grew up in. Every brother carrying the remains of his brother across borders is my brother. Every sister waiting for a sister who will never come home is my sister. Every one of these people are ours, Just like we are theirs. We belong to them and they belong to us.
I wrote this poem as an homage to Baldwin and to hear it being sung across the world or read in protests has been my own guiding light of hope.

A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present.
He was bundled into the van & taken away.
Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?”

Trans people exist. In every culture and every society on the planet, and have done throughout recorded history. They are a natural part of the human condition and always will be because (spoiler alert!) they are born every day. They aren't an ideology, they are people.
Hate is an ideology though!
My advice for the new year would be what Regine says to Seth in More Than This: “Know yourself, and go in swinging.”
Don’t let anyone take your light. Not billionaires, not terrible presidents, not radicalized children’s authors.
Decline to change your shape to accommodate the bigotry of others.
