Mets lost their 11th game in a row today

Since 1950, just *3* teams have lost 11+ games in a row in a season AND gone on to make the playoffs that same season:

1) 2017 Dodgers - lost 11 games (9/2 to 9/11)
2) 1982 Braves - lost 11 games (8/3 to 8/13)

3) 1951 Giants - lost 11 games (4/19 to 4/19)

Acronyms are pronounced as words.
-scuba
-laser
-NASA

Initialisms are pronounced as individual letters.
-NFL
-TSA
-TGIF

'Acronym' is frequently used for both kinds of abbreviations, so it's ok to call an initialism an acronym.

Stuff is my favorite baseball term. It's hilarious we use a word so vague to refer so specifically to a pitcher's arsenal and/or general abilities and/or how accessible those general abilities and talents are to that pitcher on this particular day

my 2nd favorite is "baseball activities"

WNBA Players Had an Ace Up Their Sleeve in Pay Negotiations: A Nobel Laureate Harvard economist Claudia Goldin helped WNBA players win a nearly 400% raise. Starting this season, players’ average salary will top $580,000.

After Claudia Goldin became the first woman to win a solo Nobel in economics, she got hundreds of invitations.

She accepted three.

One was advising WNBA players on a labor deal. She helped players land the biggest % raise in US sports history.
