Governor JB Pritzker led an effort with governors from 16 states calling upon Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to release approximately $6.8 billion that the Trump Administration is withholding from schools and students across America, including in Illinois.

Trump's administration is not only openly flouting the law, but they're also abandoning their responsibility to our students.

Take it from former Sec. of Education Duncan: students should be able to get a bachelor's at a community college.

To build an economy where every Illinoisan can get ahead, we need an education system that meets them where they are, regardless of age, background, or zip code.

Trump has exactly zero educational achievement goals for our nation’s children.

No goals
No strategies to achieve a goal
No metrics to measure success
No transparency around results

Education is nation building work
It should be the ultimate bipartisan or nonpartisan issue
Kids deserve better!

With Trump dismantling k-12 education and attacking higher ed, there has never been a more important time for states to lead and create more educational opportunities for their residents.
