We see a close up of Knuckle’s face, his eyes wide and pupils dilated, and a big exclamation point next to his face in a speech bubble. Knuckle’s stands up in a dramatic fashion, his dreadlocks flowing in what seems like a sudden gust of wind. He says aloud, “And when that happens, I better make sure I’m around to help out! Next time, I’ll redeem my honor as an Echidna Warrior and fight for the side of justice and freedom! Knowing Sonic, he’ll for sure need someone like me for support. My combat skills are unmatched!” A final yellow text box is placed on the bottom right of the page that reads: “I’m sure the Master Emerald would be okay with me giving myself a day off every so often…”

Knuckles seemingly places some leaves over the Master Emerald, still looking distressed. The yellow text boxes placed around him read: “It’s undeniable that Angel Island is beautiful. It always has been since the moment I was born. I understand it’s importance but…” Knuckles looks over the vast amount of trees littered across the island. The blue sky ahead has a single line of text in a yello box that reads, “I just-” Knuckles closes his eyes and slaps both his hands across his face. Another batch of yellow text boxes read: “No, I need to stay focused and stop thinking about this so hard! I’m definitely not the smartest anyway, maybe this is the only thing I could ever be good at.”

Knuckles lays down with his back against a tree. A smile can be seen forming on his face as we see visuals depicting more of the events of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. Yellow text boxes on the page read: “Although, I was good at giving Sonic and Tails a run for their money…” A depiction of Knuckles punching Sonic out of his Super form can be seen (from the intro cutscene of Sonic 3). A small depiction of Dr. Robotnik can be seen dancing on Knuckle’s head, it has both Angel Wings and a Halo, while also having a red pitchfork hidden behind its back. Another yellow text box reads: “I can’t say that the whole ordeal wasn’t a fun time… in a way.” Mental depictions of Sonic and Tails are shown floating above Knuckle’s head similar to Robotnik previously. Knuckle’s smiles, and the text box beneath him reads: “I may have been wrong about those two, but no doubt in my mind that they’ll find themselves in trouble again… Some day…"

We see Knuckles face, his eyes are shut, and he is smiling. Yellow text boxes place around his forehead read: “But I mean… Admittedly, the job does have it’s perks.” Knuckles is shown hoisting up the Master Emerald, holding it with one hand and walking through the wilderness. Seemingly exerting little energy he grunts “Hup-”. Along his walk, he greets a rabbit, and a Chao watches on from the background behind a tree. More yellow text boxes read: “Angel Island is home to incredible wildlife! The breeze is always calm, and the clouds always clutter the sky overhead… But… Even with all this being the case…”

Knuckles seems to stop walking, places down the Master Emerald and the background fades to complete darkness. His eyes are hidden under a silhouette positioned over the top of his muzzle. Glowing white text is placed around him, “Why do I still feel so… unhappy? Is all of this really my sole responsibility? Or is it the responsibility that my forefathers always envisioned for me?” The background returns and Knuckles is shown underneath sharp green trees and brush, with the sunlight shining through in patches. Knuckles looks visibly distressed. Yellow text boxes littered around his head read: “I am the last of the Echidna Tribe after all. No one else is around to preserve what’s been left behind. But is this what they wanted? For me to sit around all day doing… nothing? I’m fulfilling a role yes, but I’m not necessarily doing what most would consider ‘fun’.”
