I never take a day off. I've gotten into my hotel room at midnight after a full conference day and got it done. I'm unhappy about it 5% of the time, but I'm always happy to have done it.

Relatedly, I have a 1,246 day Duolingo streak with no stops and starts. Kinda all or nothing; for good or ill.

For my #CampRevPit WIP, I'm at the stage in Jenga where the tower is almost built, but soon I'll have to be taking pieces from below to add to it. 😬

I totally get the struggle of writing for work AND writing for fun. Like I only have so many writing coins to spend in a day.
You've done it though!!

Wow! A handwritten first draft! My hand would perish.
Love the specifics of the purple pen ❤️

Hi #CRPSirens!

I've only been writing 16 months and those that know me know I am pretty rigid in my writing habits (min 800 words/day if I'm not editing--see chart).

I rely heavily on discord sprints, iced herbal tea, and dark chocolate almonds. No music (except when editing).

Love that! I'm also writing a stranger-to-friends-to-lovers in a sports setting with college aged MCs.
Looking forward to hearing more about yours!

Thanks! I swam synchro from ages 6-11 and 18-19 and then volunteer coached collegiate synchro when I was in law school. Saw someone looking for a take on The Cutting Edge and thought synchro/water polo would be perfect for that 🏊‍♀️🤽‍♂️💗

Hi #CRPSirens!

This is my 2nd CRP. I write about women with multiple (often conflicting) identities, speculative & non.

My WIP is a college sports romance. It's a cozier version of The Cutting Edge, but in synchronized swimming.

For CRP, I hope to read some cool work and give & get support. ❤️

I always like to hear from agents about the reasons they reject things that have nothing to do with the quality of the idea and/or the writing 😊

So proud of and excited for my writing buddy @fantasyscience.bsky.social, who was chosen as a #RevPit winner and will be working with Laura.
Her novel, ChemPortal, is a nerdy, fun, romantic time, and I can't wait to see it shine even more than it already does!

Thanks again to all in my CP shout-out post, #RevPit editors, and the 2025 RevPit Discord, who've made writing fun and productive and who've helped protect my spirit while doing it.

Special second mention to @fantasyscience.bsky.social for being support, CP, and chemistry advisor!

A peach tree in a small backyard orchard on a sunny late afternoon. The tree is covered with tiny pink blossoms, but no leaves yet. In the foreground, bulbs of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinth are in a row.

And a #Haiku to celebrate unexpected survival:

Two days after frost
Tiny peach blossoms still live
Pert and pink and strong

My writing goals post #RevPit are to finish my cozy sports romance by June, then edit, beta, and query.
Trying to determine now what I will write afterward. Have three options, but none are rising to the top atm.

I thought about this as what I think/hope my strengths as a writer are:
Characters that you like/root for
Cool premises
Cozy rhythm at the line level with introspective but compelling prose

Awesome 10Qs session!
I'm curious, do you consider speculative under Fantasy, or would that be its own category?
Thanks!

Started out complete Plotter for books 1-3, then book 4, started doing detailed character backstory first, which supported a bit more Plantsing. Continued that w/book 5.

I'd now put myself at 5.5 if 1=Pantser and 10=Plotter, but long-time CP and hard-core Pantser says I'm a 7.

A little #Haiku to pre-mourn the loss of my peaches with the coming freeze tonight.

Why does spring tease us
Only to burn and freeze us?
No peaches this year

Favorite published book* read so far in 2026 was The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick.
*Read so many fantastic betas already also!

Next on my TBR is Emma Straub's American Fantasy, then Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke.
I'm super excited for both!

One of my beta readers, the amazing and multi-talented @erinabecca.bsky.social, made these super cool portraits of my characters from my #RevPit novel, Anti-Charter Campaign.
Check out Britt, Catherine, Susanne, and Angelo ❤️
It was so much fun to see them through her eyes!

During my afternoon writing sprints I have a cold-brewed iced tea made up of raspberry and "wildberry" tea.
I brew two batches in a mason jar every other day

I enjoy having my own writing space/office, but it's very messy & my house is in a perpetual state of construction.
It hasn't been "finished" since we moved here six years ago.
Shout-out to spouse for making both desks (little one was kids' desk that is temp home for old computer)
