Two out of three panels finished (plus the collar embellishment). Just another “you should be” to do then my daughter’s Taylor Swift jacket is finished (and I can start on the boys’ pokemon jackets!)

Every project, all year, I kept the off cuts of thread to make a bauble. I can see the glow in the dark pink thread from my jacket, the forget me not blue from my father’s memorial piece, bright rainbows from a pride piece… it’s nice to see the year’s work

In non-ironing-hat related news - I’ve nearly finished my glow in the dark spider jacket

So when I need to actually do ironing, the hat suddenly becomes homeless. The obvious place for it? On my head. So yeah I iron in an overly large sun hat. As all normal people do.

So it now lives on my ironing board (as every lazy housespouse knows, the ironing board doubles as a clothes horse when it’s not in use). Very rarely I actually need to *use* my ironing board for non-hat-related purposes…

The basic story of the ironing hat is that once upon a time I bought a very bulky hat to protect me from the sun, whilst on holiday. Upon getting it home I realised it doesn’t fit in any drawer without getting crushed.

Every time I put on my ironing hat, I think “I have an ironing hat, a hat I wear when I am ironing” sounds like a quickfire lie from Would I Lie To You #WILTY

This would be a lot easier if I a) had a sewing machine b) had any idea what I was doing 😝

WIP. My sunflower jeans wore out and I didn’t want to bin them so… attempting to make a bag! The elastic waistband tripped me up, so it’s a little wonky, but it’s not terrible!

And made myself some needle minders with cheap charms, magnets, and buttons

Tried to take the loops off and decided it looked messy/screwed the edges up so left on for the next two

The thread to finish the last rose finally arrived! Jacket completed and washed. Need it to dry to get proper pictures, and of course the sun has packed up and left 😝

Surprisingly difficult to photograph a jacket in its entirety. All finished apart from one rose where I ran out of thread and now have to wait for the postman to bring me some more 😭
