More academics will need to be on LinkedIn for that to happen, unfortunately. Most of them are still here (or the other place...)

Every professional development opportunity I’ve had in the past 2 years has been because of LinkedIn. Invited talks. Job offers. My business. This Nature publication. Everything.

My only regret is not using LinkedIn sooner. 4/

Enter Elon Musk. Academic Twitter, the platform I once loved, where I had nearly 20k followers, started to die. Not sure what to do, I copied my tweet threads on LinkedIn. Maybe someone would read them there?

The rest, as they say, is history. 3/

Plus, academics were on Twitter, not LinkedIn. 2/
