The album I listen to more often than any other these days, completed by the band after singer/composer Tim Smith’s death in 2020 and released 26 years (!!) after the previous LP. It’s brilliant, beautiful, surprising, inventive at every turn. Also the best sounding #Cardiacs album. A+++ etc.

It’s #Bandcamp Friday! I don’t have anything new (yet), but maybe I can talk you into buying this 2CD released by Chocolate Monk in 2019 & featuring Richard Youngs, Pete Hope, Le Quan Ninh etc. Mashed cassette-tape goo edited w broken teeth, beaten w metal chains then slathered in hiss and murk.
Morning tunes: 1986 CON-cert CON-ducted in Berlin by Gen Ken! This French label seems to be making large swaths of Schnitzler’s self-released #cassette & CDR archive available on #Bandcamp for super-cheap. Hooray!
#Berlinschool #noise #ambient #synth
headphone tunes last night & this morning: one of Brian Grainger’s ultra-minimal #modular #drone walls… slow, subtle movements…
Ancient document of a 2002 concert by me, Jason Talbot and Vic Rawlings. Awkward, angular jolts and blurps… I couldn’t make music like this anymore even if i wanted to, but it’s fascinating (I guess?) to hear the youthful sputtering of my broken brain. Naive and unpleasant. Maybe that’s your bag.

This week on A 5-Minute Hour, essica goes to her first drag show. We attend an exhibition of art by Evelyn Ackerman. Nicolas Ballet continues his industrial chitchat. Jessica works on her latest doll creation. I share a video of my first attempt at weighing sound! youtu.be/Uj6yVcJ-GKw
… this French net-label is offering loads of Conrad Schnitzler’s self-released CDr (and some #cassette) titles for name-your-price at their #Bandcamp page. Are they legit? I hope so!
Latest banger from Korm Plastics’ OOP library, released as a 150-copy LP in 1990, now freshly remastered and presented to the public. blackhumour’s work is all made out of human voices; nothing else quite sounds like it. For fans of The Haters, AMK, Hands To, Aaron Dilloway etc.
RIP FRED SMITH
then man who stepped into richard hell's shoes in television, making the band far less chaotic but a whole lot more "musical." later a vintner & animating presence at the great jones.

… not a complete list (of course), but here’s some relatively obscure German post punk and new wave on Bandcamp. I love this stuff! If I missed anything, leave a link in the comments.
Guess I should have posted this yesterday, heh. Early homemade noise by a young Roel Meelkop, initially released on cassette in the mid-1980s.
Amazing #Bandcamp reissue of a 1982 obscure #synthpunk cassette! Directly from the artist! So good to be able to hear this in higher quality than the crappy tape rips that have been floating around online.
… nearly done composing my collaborative album with tac (aka Tom A Cox), a musical hero of mine since high school. We’ve been batting this around for more than a year. I think it sounds damn good so far.
… I’m now selling the CD and download of my new album at my Bandcamp page. Not sure how many are left?
Oooh! New album of blistering #noise by the duo of Diagram: A and Steve/+DOG+! So damn good, two giants of Massachusetts noise. #Bandcamp
